We recently took a little hiatus from the Left Coast and hopped over (and by hopped I mean traveled all day) to visit my parents in Southwest Florida. They winter in Naples these days, and sometimes we get to benefit...and it's always warm there. Yay! We've been a few times over the years now, so this time, Pinky and...
Our trip to Iceland was totally incredible. It was just...wild. The hiking was mind-blowing, the vistas awe-inspiring, and there's no doubt in our minds that Icelanders know how to live it up (especially in the summer). I have so much more to share about our trip, but I wanted to start with one of our top experiences: hiking Reykjadalur.
Reykjadalur,...
"...my children are not truly mine. They don’t belong to me; they’ve simply been entrusted to me. They are a gift life gave to me, but one that I must one day give back to life. They must grow up and go away and that is as it should be."
My mind is a big old scramble right now.

I see you new moms out there.
And I feel you. Genuinely.
Do you have a boob group? Or a new mom group? Or an infant play group?
Best new mom survival tactic ever.

If you follow me on IG (@shanachristine), you know that we recently returned from an amazing trip to Cuba. I have so much more to say on that topic (hopefully next week??), but so many of you were asking for outfit details and my vacation packing list that I wanted to crank this one out.

As Spring Break approaches I find myself a leetle regretful that I didn't plan a warm weather trip for us this year. I mean, we're so much closer to Hawaii here in Portland and we still haven't been...next year maybe I can write a travel post on that trip! (Pinky, are you reading...)
We were fortunate enough to get to...
We have fun friends. Namely, they know how to find fun that is both kid and adult friendly. Balance, people. It's all about balance. And really, any fun that is to be had after 6PM - especially in the summer - should start with WIN and end with an E. #winwithanE #thatswhatI'msaying
So this past Thursday, we took the kids on a sunset...
Given the ages of my kids (4 and 7 at the time), our two favorite day trips from San Juan were hiking through the rainforest of El Yunque (and swimming in the waterfalls), and visiting Loquillo Beach. Here are a few notes and pics from our trip:
El Yunque Rainforest Hike (and Waterfalls)
I spent a ton of time trying to find out...
About this time last year, with Spring Break looming on the horizon and wanderlust creeping into my veins, I sat Mike down in the kitchen. The kids were in bed, the Scotch was poured and it was time to talk Plans (Mike's least favorite topic). "Babe," I said. "I really want to go somewhere different for Spring Break. We spend most of...
SUMMER. I wait all year for the season of beach days and s'mores and bubbles and sand between your toes. I don't even mind the accompanying sweaty little heads and complaints of boredom because eventually sprinklers are turned on, popsicles are ready, fireflies come out, and summer works it's magic on us all.
We just spent a glorious few days...
