Happiest of holidays, friends. Did you survive?? My Christmas ended up being pretty stressful, as my dad was sent to the hospital with double pneumonia. I found out how tough navigating an adult relationship with your parents can be when one is very ill. My parents (not wanting to worry me, I think) downplayed the situation until hospitalization was required, and asked us to postpone coming to Chicago to see them, which just caused me to worry more. Finally, after some great advice from my TME family (“just go!” they all said, a thought that hadn’t yet crossed my mind) helped so much. In what ended up being a holiday miracle, he was released from the hospital on Christmas Eve!
