I’m alll about creating a lovely space on our covered front porch this time of year (hello Portland rainy weather) where I bring out some deliciously comfy blankets and pillows and enjoy the fresh air sitch and escape to a little ‘me’ time.
Sometimes I don’t tell my family I’m out there and it takes them a while to find me mwahaha.
Whether you need some BFF time or some alone time, a cozy hang on the porch is like the epitome of fall enjoyment in my book. And speaking of books, it’s the perfect place to curl up with a good one. A couple of my favorites this year so far? This one and this one.

Cozy Porch Decor For Fall Hangs
Creating a vibe is so important in this gal’s book and especially when it comes to entertaining or taking time for yourself. You may not think you’re into aesthetics or decorating your spaces, but surrounding yourself with things YOU love really does make you feel better.
For you that could mean a really clean space or just some simple candles or porch lights strung up in your space. Or it could mean going all out like I typically do and invite all the things in…cozy, pretty and comfy. Here’s what I’m using to make my front porch hangs just that!

1 | Everything Soft (To Keep You Warm + Cozy)
A comfy blanket is, of course, a must. My favorites are the Rumpl blankets that are so easy for outdoor activities of any kind, the fuzzy options Anthro has year after year and a super soft sheepskin to bring out to put on your chair for ultimate coziness.

2 | A Comfy Outfit (Don’t Forget The Uggs)
My latest go-to for warm comfy everyday wear are matching sweats. I love this top and these pants I’m wearing from Gap and the full length pants are warm and perfect with the platform Uggs I’m loving. Other go-to sets? The Phoenix Fleece from Nike and the adidas adicolor essentials sweats.

3 | Pretty Porch Decor
Seasonal decor is fun, but pieces you can invest in to use for months or years are my favorites. I love setting a welcoming vibe without it being cheesy or overdone. Camper approves of the fun doormat, too! I’ve linked more porch basics below along with some really fun doormat options.

4 | A Good Book
My favorite place to read when the weather is decent is on my porch. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite options, whether you like to peruse a cookbook for meal ideas and inspo, read an interesting, endearing novel or curl up with a fantasy series. Need something spooky right now? Oof this one is super intriguing!

5 | Lighting To Set The Scene
Lighting, especially in the early or dusk hours is key. My favorite things to make a place feel cozy for hanging with friends, enjoying a beverage, etc. are cafe lights and battery operated candles #safetyfirst (real wax exterior makes them feel way more special.) And this little lantern I got this year for our yard is so great!

6 | Warm Drinks
It’s no secret around here that Ember Mugs are our absolute favorite things to keep our coffee warm. These make the BEST gifts and now it dawns on me it would be great to have a second one around for when friends make coffee/tea visits this season. (Oooh or apple cider visits!)
Yeti mugs make a great alternative if you need something a little more reasonably priced to have on hand that still does a solid job at keeping drinks warm. You can make coffee or tea in a French press situation and our household’s favorite are the stainless steel options (no more replacing them every other month because hubs does the dishes heh. Hi babe…)

Hope this little round up helps you create a super cozy porch hang for yourself and loved ones this fall!

If you’re accepting book recommendations… The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and (current read) The Unfortunate Side Effects of Heartbreak and Magic (a first novel…think Practical Magic meets Gilmore Girls). Love your porch! (apartment dweller…no porch, just a fabulous sectional with a cashmere throw, an old man puppy, and an overhead reading lamp) <3
Aww thanks Tamara! Love recommendations! I’ll have to try to get back into Evelyn Hugo, but also Practical Magic meets Gilmore Girls YES!!
Love this! Porch time is the best time.
Thanks, Carin! Agree porch time is the best!
The brown rug from Anthro looks like a Bischoff cookie to me. Or maybe I just need a little sugar this afternoon? haha
Thank you for the book recommendations! Already started “Remarkably Bright Creatures” it’s so good! You and your porch are adorable! Thanks for a great post!
Oh awesome I hope you love it! Thanks so much, Teesha!
The ambiance is incredibly inviting! The books, clothing, blankets, and mugs, along with the presence of candles and the adorable dog, create a cozy atmosphere. It has always been my dream to have a porch like this in my own home someday 🙂 Btw, the uggs are stunning!
Thanks so much, Julianna!
But where are your glasses from? Because those? Those I LOVE.
Thanks! They are from a site I found called Yes Glasses. Love them!
