Ahh, swimsuit shopping. There’s nothing new I can say here except…solidarity. I recommend self-tanner to start the quest with this time of year. I was fortunate enough to have found one for our beach trip back in February, but as my fellow short-torso’d mamas know, flattering, one-piece suits often elude us…the straps are too long, the skin-baring styles are uncomfortable, the conservative styles make us look even shorter….All of us can relate to one-pieces giving us flat boobs and/or not much help in the tummy area. But, at our weekly meeting recently, Shana showed us a $30 one-piece swimsuit with over 1,000 reviews — from a variety of shapes and sizes?? I had to try it out for myself. Perhaps it’s the summer version of the famous Amazon coat? We needed to know.
The Swimsuit With 1,000 Reviews

My Review of The Cupshe Bathing Suit
I can give you my review in one word…fabulous. The suit fabric is a great quality that helps hold you in; the top is comfortable and flattering on the chest; the cup liners give a nice smoothing effect and some padding, but not too much. The suit is easy to put on with the hook closure in the back (ie. no ties to untie and re-tie) and the booty is just slightly cheeky, but not enough to feel uncomfortable in. (Super-cheeky is super in, so I feel on trend here without feeling self-conscious.) The fit is true to size, so no guessing game at which size to get. The deep v isn’t revealing, but creates the look of a longer torso. The straps are adjustable for a good fit on the shoulders. I can’t wait to wear this thing.

Cupshe Vintage Lace Swimsuit – Thick fabric, flattering cut, not too cheeky. I adore this. It also fits true to size, which was surprising, and it gets — yes — over 1,000 reviews. The only negative comments I saw were that it wasn’t long enough for one customer who is 5’11”, and the bra inset was too low on her. There are reviews of all sizes and shapes. It seems this bathing suit works well on a large variety of bodies. So cool. TTS. Wearing a Small.
Dr. Scholls Slides – TTS. SO comfy right out of the box.
Other Cupshe One-Piece Colors, Exact Style
Be aware when you click through to the suit, there are three colors that are the same fit — blue, olive and the black and white stripe I’m wearing.

Cupshe One-Piece Colors, Different Style
These three print/color options below have variations in fit to the one I have above. The black has side cutouts, the print has a different strappy back, and the green stripe has a shallower v, a higher back, and a halter tie at the neck.

Comparing the Cupshe To A Higher End Swimsuit
OK, so the fit of this suit was so good and flattering, sooooo…I thought I’d try out a higher end suit in a similar shape for comparison. This adorable BECCA suit was catching my eye online. And it’s cute, it is. I’d probably love it had I not tried on the other one first. But A) the colors of the stripes aren’t as cute in person, and B) it’s not quite as supportive as the Cupshe suit. Color me surprised. The fabric is actually thinner on this one (not super-thin), but not as hold-you-in as the Amazon suit. The strappy back wasn’t quite as comfy either. But I’d give this a solid 7 out of 10, so not bad.

BECCA West V One-Piece Swimsuit (similar) – Cute print and a very decent suit. It’s shimmery, which I don’t know if I like or not. Like the fit, but the tie back isn’t quite as easy or comfy as the other suit. TTS. Wearing a Small.
Rose Gold Slides (similar) – I love these fun shoes.
Have you tried out the famous suit or one like it? We’d love to see a picture or hear your thoughts! I am so surprised by how much I love it. I actually can’t wait to have an opportunity to wear it. How many swimsuits can you say that about??

I bought the Cupshe suit, too, based on TME Swim Shop recommendations. I was really pleasantly surprised with the suit, too. I feel like it’s pretty fun and flirty, while still being flattering. Thanks for the heads up on this one!
Sure thing! And that’s a great way to describe it!
First, this is the best blog ever amen. Second, your posts are my favorite. Third, you look adorable in that first suit! The more spendy one does not compare!
Oh gosh. Thank you!! And thanks for your support, mama, especially on a swim suit post!
I tried the suit too, based on Shana’s mention. For $30, it’s pretty good — but on me, not great, not as great as on you! My chest must be even smaller because I did get gaping along the v-neck due to the depth, even with straps tightened. And the V-point wasn’t too flattering on my belly from the side. Since it runs TTS, maybe the suit was just too large for me in size S (the smallest available size) since I usually wear XS in bikini tops.
Anyway, my search continues for the perfect one-piece, although I suspect that my super-boyish body type is just more suited to bikinis. Since I carry weight high in my belly and am quite narrow at the high hip, a low-rise string bikini bottom is actually more flattering than one with more coverage because it stops before my belly curve starts and accentuates my hipbones. I would still like the security of a one-piece for actual swimming, though.
Aw, dang. The search continues. I wonder if a color blocked one-piece with a built-in waistline would be flattering? I’m pretty straight through the waist and I have tried a few like this that were flattering! Jess just did a post early last week i think that included some like this that create a waistline. I find the two pieces are most flattering on me, too. But yeah, sometimes you don’t want to worry about rocking a two piece!
I was SO surprised to see that this review was so positive of Cupshe! I bought 4 swimsuits from them recently (although not this one) and was horrified by both the quality and the fit of ALL 4. And they all fit differently-weirdly (so not like I just don’t have the body type for them; one was gappy in the chest and one was saggy on the booty!). So maybe this is the “unicorn” of their swimsuits? It does look great on you! But I would definitely not recommend them as a rule.
Agreed. I’ve heard other reports of inconsistencies with their suits, as well. I had another top of theirs a while ago and it was fine, but yes I can’t recommend anything but this one suit!
Oh, thanks for the tips! Off to look at Jess’s post now.
Hi there! I just ordered the olive. Any thoughts on what cover-up would look super cute with this suit.
Love this blog I look forward to reading it all the time.
Hmm. Good question! And thank you so much! I’m typically bad at coverups, but I LOVE the crepe jumpsuit I took to Florida recently. It’s still available in this clay color that might be great with the olive suit. https://rstyle.me/+u2qvr3FCdRwsVn_wGlY_Fw Otherwise, I think any top, dress, or jumpsuit with a v neck would work!
I did too!! And I’m a full busted gal–38DD. So my Cupshe runneth over, but my Hub was very happy and it is perfect for lying around the pool on our Mexico spring break. Thanks for a less-pricy alternative!!!
Hahaha best comment ever. Nailed it.
You look amazing!!
Thanks for the review! I love reading this blog. I tried the Cupshe bathing suit after reading your article and so wanted it to work. It’s beautiful, and I love the style. However, speaking as a very busty gal, though the size medium fit me perfectly everywhere else, it did NOT fit decently through the cups. My daughters asked me if I had it on backwards, and suggested I could wear a swim shirt under it! So reluctantly I will have to return it to Amazon. Definitely will not work for a large-chested mama running around with kids at the pool this summer. Sad face.
Oh dang it! I will definitely keep an eye out for a similar style suit that will be more supportive up top! I so appreciate your feedback here though. Thank you for taking the time to write it!
Thank you for the review! I have heard of Cupshe briefly but never actually saw any of their products. I love them! You look amazing in both one pieces. I want to order one for sure, right now I get all my suits from https://www.keywestswimwear.com/ they have so many cute styles all so different.
