My Go-To Jeans For Cold Weather: Uniqlo HEATTECH

If you’ve been reading for a while, you might know that I live waaaaaay up in the U.P. of Michigan. It’s cold here. Like, really really cold. (In fact, I literally just took pictures of my kids having their first snowball fight of the year.) I mean, there’s a reason why I’m always posting about puffer coats and UGG boots. I’m always on the hunt for clothes that will keep me warm without making me look like the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters (side note: a great movie for Halloween, but be careful–my daughter is now obsessed with the theme song).

Anyway, anytime I find something new that keeps me warm and is cute, (like Athleta’s Polartec Altitude Tights that have the softest, warmest inner lining ever, or their Flurry Force Jacket that’s perfect for layering, or those UGG boots that have now become my go-to boots this winter) I can’t wait to share it with you guys–especially those of you who know the pain of living through some brutally cold winters.

Uniqlo Has High-Rise Jeans. With HEATTECH. YES!

My latest find? Uniqlo’s HEATTECH Ultra Stretch High-Rise Jeans. They are SO good, you guys. They look like regular jeans, but feel like sweatpants. The soft fabric is perfectly stretchy and easy to move around in, and the inner lining actually feels like sweatshirt material. That cozy brushed inner lining has moisture-absorbing and heat-generating functions to keep you warm. (The pockets are even lined with that same soft fabric to keep your hands warm as well.)

I personally love the high-rise fit with the slightly tapered leg. The rise isn’t so high that it’s uncomfortable, nor is it creating any muffin-top either. The leg isn’t super-skinny (you can definitely fit thicker socks or even sock booties underneath), but it isn’t wide-leg or flared (something you want to avoid when that frigid breeze blows). These are SUCH a good find for winter. (But who am I kidding, I’m already wearing them all the time this fall.)

Outfit Details

jeans: Uniqlo Women HEATTECH Ultra Stretch High-Rise Jeans – I’m wearing a 28 and they’re tts! The inseam is 31″ so it’s a bit long for me (I rolled them here but might just cut some length off), but would be perfect for taller girls. Also in a light or dark blue wash!

sweater: J. Crew Cashmere Mockneck Sweater – I love J. Crew’s cashmere and this sweater didn’t disappoint. Super soft, warm, and the neckline is like a perfect cross between a crew and a turtleneck. (I’m loving that autumn pine and burnished timber color right now!)

boots: Blondo Camila Waterproof Bootie – I was actually surprised these were as warm as they were. Usually, when boots are waterproof, that means my feet end up dry but freezing. These were comfy and warm, and I love that the buckles are actually adjustable.

cami: Hanro Allure Built-In Bra Cami – I’m basically obsessed with these camis right now. They add warmth without adding bulk and make it so I don’t have to wear a ton of layers. So comfy too!

And now I really want to try their entire HEATTECH line, including these leggings and this layering t-shirt. I know Linzi loves their puffers, too! Do you guys own any cold-weather must-haves??

XOXO.

  1. Man! I love everything here! The jeans are really cute and you always manage to find the best sweaters. Thanks for sharing all of it!

  2. Love those boots! Also glad to see TME featuring Uniqlo–I think they often have realy cute stuff, but it’s often just a lot to sift through, so if y’all needed a push to be my curators, consider this it! 🙂

  3. Thank you! I’m in Breckenridge and *I know*, cannot do wide leg in winter. Deciding between these and Athleta polartec. I need the Athleta flurry jacket, too, looks like a great layering piece for winter!

  4. Scotti, thank you SO MUCH for the tip on the HEATTECH jeans. I live in the mountains in BC and we already have snow…I knew I needed something way cozier for winter than cropped, frozen-ankle jeans. I’m ordering a pair of these today! 🙂
