Since starting with TME back in May, I’ve been constantly trying to brainstorm fun, new, unique things to bring to our readers! I was sitting at my desk one day trying to come up with a topic for a blog post where I somehow combined my love for interior design with my love for fashion… I was drawing blank after blank. Later that day I was walking through my closet trying to pull outfit options for Shana and Mike’s vow renewal and pulled out a skirt, that ironically, was the same color as the paint in my master bathroom. I held it up to the wall, and that was my “aha!” moment! Style inspiration can really come from anywhere.
I decided that I was going to challenge myself to style outfits inspired by each of the rooms in my home! The catch was (and this made it kind of tough for certain rooms) I was only allowed to pull from items that I already had… I could not go out and buy new pieces to work into these looks.
Here’s what I ended up with…
Dress Like Your Domain: Home Decor-Inspired Outfits
The Room: Serafina’s Perfectly Pink Bedroom
Serafina’s room is washed in a nudey-mauve-colored paint so I knew I was going to have to go for a monochromatic pink look that was fun and feminine. This adorable sweater shirt is from ChicWish, but I got it last year and it’s no longer available! The skinny jeans are my go-to Amazon Essentials Skinny Jeans and the shoes are Steve Madden Erin Peep Toe Mule, which come in a ton of other colors and patterns!

My second look for Serafina’s room was a little more on the mauve side, and I really played off of all the velvet accents in her room – like her Pink Velvet West Elm Drapes and her Velvet Duvet Cover from Restoration Hardware. The skirt I’m wearing is from Target (last year) but I found a SUPER-similar one on ChicWish! These Velvet Steve Madden Ankle Boots are one of my favorite pair of shoes to wear fall into winter.

The Room: Delaney’s Baby Blue Nursery
Inspired by Delaney’s baby blue monochromatic nursery, I chose to go with yet another monochromatic outfit. I bought this top years ago, so, unfortunately, don’t have a link for it, but I thought the bow tie in front was perfectly soft and feminine! The jeans are again my FAVORITE skinnies from Amazon that I have in pretty much every color (I am almost 5’3″ and I ordered the short; they are the perfect length). My Betsey Johnson shoes were inspired by the Pier 1 Rosette Table Lamp on Delaney’s nightstand, and I topped off the outfit with this fun fold over clutch from Target.

Those jeans are adorable! I am not a colored denim kind of girl, especially not pastel colors, but you look amazing in them. I may need to get a pair. Especially at that price point! How is the sizing? I for sure need regular length at 5’7″, but curious how sizing went for you. Thanks!
Thank you! The great thing about these jeans is they come in so many color options! So if the pastel colors arent for you they have regular denim and khaki and some other darker colors as well! They run a little big because of how stretchy they are… im normally a size 0 or 2 depending on the brand…like old navy, Zara, Topshop, im a 2, but these im a 0! Hope that helps!
I love this post! Outfits are amazing! I’m probably not the only one thinking that if I tried to dress inspired by my home’s decor, I’d end up in a shirt covered in sticky Cheerios and pants made of half-destroyed Lego creations! 😉
What a cute idea! I love the blue top especially.
