Aaaaand we’re in the thick of it, peeps. So many good Black Friday (or rather week of Black Friday) sales going strong, and it’s taking every ounce of control in my body not to throw every single one of these items in my cart and press checkout while peeking between my fingers.
Emily’s Black Friday Shopping List: California, Here We Come
I realized when rounding these things up that I’ve got a subtly California vibe going on here, and I think that’s my style in a nutshell. A base of timeless — and yes, occasionally basic — fundamentals (I can’t help it, le sigh…) meets a little bit of edgy funk with a smidge of boho thrown in for good measure.

5 // Textured Throw Pillow (Under $20) — We bring most of the texture into our rooms with textiles, and this nubby pillow is both neutral and interesting — and just a little bit boho.
6 // Metallic Silver Snake Print Boots — OK, this is like the unicorn of fall boots — it’s neutral but trendy, dressy but not over-the-top. The cap toe gives it a menswear-y feel and the heel height is perfect. Positively obsessed. Additional 60% off (!!!) with code SHOPFIRST for rewards members.
7 // Tobacco Leather Weekender Bag — This leather weekender bag would make a great gift (thinking of adding it to Chris’ haul), and it’s that kind of leather that’ll only get better with age. 50% off (!!!) with code SHOPFIRST for rewards members.
8 // Distressed Denim — Just enough slouch in these jeans and the hem is all sorts of casual good — would look good with all manner of boots, flats, heels.

10 // Midi Boots — After browsing literally thousands of on-sale midi boots, I’m pretty convinced these are the perfect not-quite western boot. They feel both on-trend and classic, and I love them. 11 // Distressed Eclectic Rug — I am slightly rug obsessed (will literally hunt online for months at a time) — and this one is SO GOOD. Vintage-inspired red rugs like this are almost their own brand of neutral. They elevate almost any space and add so much character while subtly blending in.
12 // Kitchen Aid Blender — This is one of three mega blenders we have, and the price point on this one can’t be beat. Near-professional power for under $200 on sale.
