Fall Jeans At Madewell Are So Good I Bought 3

4

Hey-o. Fall peeps. We’re finally getting here! Don’t get me wrong, I’m still basking in the sunny days we have left, but there’s nothing like fall fashion, IMO and I think a lot of you agree!

I was recently near my Madewell store and decided to just pop-in to see what new things they might have (I’ll be honest…they didn’t really impress me with their summer stuff.) BUT…um then fast forward to me bringing home three pairs of jeans and yeah, I’d say they’re worth a look-see!

3 Madewell Jeans You Need To Try For Fall 2024

I love bringing any new jeans home and styling them up first with other pieces in my closet before deciding on which to keep, so that’s just what I did after my recent trip to Madewell. Sometimes dressing room selfies can either be so wrong or so right, so I have to take more at home to really appreciate whether I’ll actually wear the jeans or not.

And per usual, I’m always multitasking so here’s me drinking my protein shake while trying on my favorite pair.

When shopping for new denim, I’ll admit I first look for washes I like. I’m a picky gal when it comes to washes and specific denim colors so I can just skip over anything that is too light, too whiskered, too dark blue or too busy (ie. acid style washes, lots of contrast between dark and light areas, etc.)

I know what I like and it’s typically washes that seem vintage-looking and black denim. This is not a surprise to those of you who have been around here for a while. LOL.

Next up, I definitely move onto leg shape. Previously, that was almost always straight leg jeans, but now I’m in love with wide leg, barrel leg, cuffed and slightly baggy fits and Madewell finally has some cute options. I also love not overwhelming myself all at once with too many pairs. I only tried 3 on the day I went in-store and was pretty picky about which three.

I do know I try a lot of styles on for this job, so I get that occasionally you’ll need to give a few more than three a chance, but if you get confused in the dressing room…have no fear. I got you. Just try a few. But also, I’m happy to do some of the (leg) work for you! 😁

1 | Madewell Super Wide-Leg Jeans in Fanin Wash

Jeans (29) | Tee (M) | Boots (similar)

This Super Wide Leg jean was the first pair I picked up in the store (I mean…that wash, those cuffs!) I knew I had to give them a go. They did not disappoint. These are a nice slightly softer denim than the cuffed Citizens of Humanity Ayla (seem to be sold out in the color I had here) I had this spring, so it’s going to be a tough decision honestly.

I think I prefer the slight drape of these to the CoH I already have. And this wash is better for fall (a bit darker blue than the Citizens.) These cuffs are also tacked to keep them up, where I had to cuff my own with the spring pair and my pair is a little too cropped for my liking anymore. I also love Madewell’s price point compared to CoH.

Sizing: These fit true to size and have a bit of stretch making them very comfy. They’re not too high or too low-waisted. Perfect.

2 | Madewell The Darted Barrel-Leg Jean in Irmo Wash

Jeans (30, in black at Nordstrom) | Tee (M) | Boots (similar)

The Darted Barrel-leg Jean was the last pair I picked up in-store, but the first pair I fell in love with right away. I still wanted to get home and try them on a second time to make sure I actually liked them and YEP. Love. Took the tags off. Wore them the other day. They’re best with a little bit of a heel but also fine with low-profile sneakers (I’m 5’4″ as a reminder.)

The darted legs are so cool and I’m getting rid of my blue-washed Free People Moxie jeans since these are so much easier to wear without giant grommets at the waist (I never totally loved the huge drawstring sitch of the Moxies.)

Sizing: I did need to size up in these for the butt but they fit just slightly loose after wearing and I adore them. And they’re not tight on my stomach. Yay!

3 | Madewell Low Slung Baggy Jeans in Hamburg Wash

Jeans (29, in dk blue at Nordstrom) | Tee (M) | Boots (similar)

This was the pair I was most on the fence about, but gosh, that wash got me in the store. And the idea of low-slung baggy jeans.

I’m glad I tried them on again though because while I think they look cute styled here, I just didn’t feel my best in them compared to the other two pairs.

It’s a little more apparent in this second dressing room selfie pic here but the rise is just a bit too high. But they’re supposed to be low-slung?

Sizing: They’re true to size, but I just don’t like these as much as I initially thought. I don’t have a very long torso, so I think I need a shorter rise for low-slung to work on me.

So I tried them on again pulling them down a bit. Yeah, just not me. It could also be the wash? While it’s cool and vintage I don’t think it’s my fav for fall either. Idk. Also in black at Nordstrom. Maybe I’d like those better.

As always friends I hope this try-on was helpful. If you’ve been looking for new fall jeans and struggling like I was, give these a go.
