5 Classic Pieces For Fall 2025

Every season I do my deep dive into trends (especially when it comes to fall time). Not because I need to follow the trends, but it’s always such good inspo, and honestly…it’s just fun for me, haha. Now that the temp FINALLY dropped, (okay, it didn’t drop a ton, but I’ll take what I can get), I think it’s an appropriate time to really get into these fall trends that’ll take us well into winter, too. Needless to say, I’m in full fall mode from here on out. Saks is one of the first places I start for inspo, and right now, they have a promo for ya: earn a $50-$900 gift card with your purchase using code: GCAUGSF.

While trends feel allll over the map right now, I did notice that the boho effect is going strong for fall 2025. Think: flowy, romantic tops, flared jeans, denim dresses, faux-fur collared jackets, midi-maxi skirts in any fabric (silk, denim, cotton, linen), lace details, tall and/or suede boots, and those perfectly slouchy suede or leather bags. I’m loving it. Don’t worry, though…this entire post isn’t boho-exclusive.

Fall 2025 Trends At Saks: 5 Cute Looks To Snag Now

I sprinkled the trends I’m eyeing for fall 2025 throughout all of the outfits, but I picked one staple piece for each that I was seeing a ton of options for. Consider them the guidelines for fall 2025 outfit making.

Fall Outfit Staple 1: Romantic, Boho Tops

There’s basically an unlimited amount of these flowy, romantic, boho-esque tops. They really just take any old pair of jeans, and make them wayyy more interesting. I decided to really lean into the ’70s inspo with this one, too. I mean…how could I not with that print?

NOTES: Make sure to click through the jean photos, they’re a little lighter (not black). Next, I’ve been slowly but surely gravitating towards the clogs for fall 2025 outfits (and that particular pair is under $170). They even work with chunky, cozy socks and laid-back looks, but they can definitely be dressed up, too. The other shoe trend I can’t stop thinking about: tall suede boots. Just so dang sleek and cool. Just add a slouchy bag and hoops.

Fall Outfit Staple 2: Button-Down Shirts

I think button-down shirts of sorts will always be an outfit staple for most seasons (including the denim ones). Whether you wear them open or fully-buttoned, they make even the simplest outfits look a little more chic and put together. And, they work with sooo many things — dresses, jeans, skirts, soft shorts, etc.

NOTES: Again, click on those pants — they’re like a dark, chocolatey brown in corduroy. Boat shoes are another trend for fall 2025 that the team’s been eyeing, and I’m on board with it. As for this particular button-down, that crop is great + perfect for hitting right at the waist for high-waisted pants.

Fall Outfit Staple 3: Midi Skirts

I’ve been wearing the heck out of my midi skirts (more like a maxi on me) all summer, so I fully intend to bring them into fall this year. I have yet to get a denim one, but that’s next on my radar. They’ve been the saving grace of my closet whenever I wanna feel put-together but comfortable, and not have to think too much about it.

NOTES: I’ve basically been eyeing those Staud boots for years in every single color. Now would be such a good time to finally scoop them up. S has had them for awhile + loves. And a moment for that top — normally I wouldn’t gravitate towards a bolder floral print, but the moodiness won me over. Mesh ballet flats, yep, they’re staying for fall 2025, too. Also look at those earrings, they look so much cooler on, and I’ve really been getting into the mixed metals.

Fall Outfit Staple 4: Wide-Leg Jeans

I mean, we all saw this one coming, right? Wide-leg jeans aren’t going anywhere…from baggy, bootcut, slim-fitted, to flares and wide-leg trouser style. And, yes, these are the team-fave featherweight ones. Went a little lighter on the color-story here for my summer-lovers.

NOTES: There’s something about the color-combo of that top that instantly drew me in. I’ll always love a subtle pop of red, too. Truth be told, I’m a silver girl at heart, so I’m still gonna rock the silver accessories, too.

Fall Outfit Staple 5: Denim Dresses

There’s been a massive resurgence of denim dresses for the past year or two, and I don’t see that stopping. And, it makes sense. The versatility is awesome. Wear them with heels, tall boots, clogs, sandals, sneakers…anything, really.

NOTES: THE BAG. THE BOOTS. LOVE. Drama, but I really cannot stop thinking about both of them. The bag is almost like a cherry-brown on the site. And, I’m still charmed by all the charmed things, so I had to include that necklace.
