It seems like the busy summer party calendar is going to keep right on chugging through fall and into the holidays….which means that I need a versatile dress for all of the upcoming weddings, holidays, and – why not? – family photo sessions.
So I was pretty excited when Modcloth asked us to check out their fall lookbook – I immediately gravitated towards their party dress section which is full of wearable, fun dresses that would be gorgeous in a family photo, dressy enough for fall weddings, yet can be dialed back for date nights. I found an on-trend-for-fall embroidered dress that I plan to wear the heck out of straight through the holidays.
First up? A sweet tea party and garden tour, hosted by my favorite 2 year old (and her giraffe).
Wearing
Modcloth Applique-Outlined Long Sleeve A-Line Dress (M): This is such a fun dress and really comfortable! There’s no stretch but happily, plenty of room up top if you have a larger bust, and the waist hits at the most flattering place for the skirt to skim over any tummy lumps. I’m planning to wear this for the holidays, too – so festive!
Modcloth The Strong Silent Stripe Tights, Navy: So warm and cozy, perfect for those late fall days where thick wool tights are too warm but these have built-in A/C!
Modcloth Off and Cunning Oxford Heel – These are so easy to wear and the heel’s totally walkable! And that’s coming from a flats/sneakers lover. They run a bit small, I’d size up one (they’re in Euro sizes, I’m a 7.5 so I ordered my normal 38, but they’re a bit snug).

Thanks for the great a-line options. The dress looks great on you and it looks like a good time was had by all.
Thanks, Kari! A-line dresses are pretty much universally flattering, love ’em! (Especially for holidays that center around food – my favorite kind!)
