Just Five Spring ‘Fits I’m Ogling Over at Nordstrom

Lately I’ve been ‘ooohing’ and ‘aahing’ over basically everything spring and summer at Nordstrom right now. Over the winter my relationship had grown a bit tepid – nothing was really doing it for me. But…spring rolled around and it feels like Nordstrom is back on their ‘A-Game’ baby, because I want everything. Specifically, lacy romantic tops, super cute matching shorts and button-up sets, black sandals with interesting metal detailing and a new favorite affordable sunglasses brand, just to name but a few.

Finding My Spring Favorites at Nordstrom: 5 Fun Outfits

So, when my eyes are bigger than my budget (which is always), I’ve found that creating these fun inspirational outfit collages are like a form of therapy for me. It allows me to play around with different pieces and trends I’m loving to see which would incorporate best into my everyday wardrobe, before I take the plunge.

1: My Dream Spring Outfit: A Lacy Top & Wide-Leg Jeans

Take a pretty white blouse (from Farm Rio) and a pair of wide-leg Mother jeans and you’ve got a foolproof spring (or summer) outfit combination.

NOTES: I am crushing really hard on these 3.1 Phillip Lim Raffia-trim Ankle Wrap Sandals, they really complete the look. I also had to add in my favorite Kaja Face Bento Palette set, it comes with a powder blush, a powder highlighter and a cream bronzer all in one. I keep it in my handbag because it’s so practical and easy to use.

2: Make it a Matching Set

There’s nothing cooler (or easier) than a matching set. I like when they’re a little PJ inspired. I offset the vibe with current sunglasses and sophisticated sandals.

NOTES: This matching poplin button-down shirt and shorts set literally stopped me in my tracks when I saw it. Major bonus: it also comes in plus-size. Also, let me introduce you all to my new favorite affordable and chic sunglasses brand: AIRE. Every single pair is under $50 and they have the chicest styles. Also, how cool are these Jeffrey Campbell polished buckle flip-flops? They also come in some great color options: white/silver, white/gold and tan/gold.

3: Wrap Up in A Tie-Waist Dress

This is a look I wear on the regular during spring. In fact, you can see how I styled up a super-similar look in my last post.

NOTES: I also have an almost identical version of this Nordstrom tie-wrap dress that I got at Target last spring and it was one of my most worn dresses last year because it is so incredibly The tie-waist accentuates the waist and the ties lay in a way that covers my tummy. Side note: the plus-size version of this dress is on sale right now for under $60!

4: Loose-Fit Button Up and Cargos

I love my job and this cool TME community Shana created. I get so much style inspiration from the TME team contributors (and our readers too). And this particular look is inspired by TME’s Amy Vafa. She nails the oversized look so effortlessly and she knows how to rock loose-fit button-up top.

NOTES: This oversized button-down is a must-have for my spring wardrobe because it can be worn with so much: denim cut-off shorts, loose fit linen pants or wide-leg jeans, to name a few. I am also seriously considering this Madewell Woven Leather Crossbody it’s so similar to Clare V.’s Midi Sac Woven Crossbody Bag and it’s over $200 cheaper.

5: Shake it Up With a Sheer Shirt

Speaking of oversized button-ups, this semi-sheer oversized shirt by Open Edit is such a fun option with a ton of potential. Ignore the photo – I’d wear it tucked in – and paired with a black camisole or bralette, cut-offs, and sneaks.

NOTES: I still swear by my trusty Agolde Parker cut-off shorts – I’ve had them for over 5 years now. My black Adidas are also some of my most-worn shoes. And if you are more of an untucked kind of girl, try this sheer top untucked with these Mother wide-leg jeans and a pair of strappy sandals.

Until next time,
