Stripes, Oversized Shirts & Chambray: Beachy Favorites From Frank & Eileen

This post is sponsored by Frank & Eileen.

I’ve been a longtime fan of Frank & Eileen, a women-owned, women-led brand that stands as a leader in slow fashion. Their commitment to ethical practices is impressive – not only are they a certified B Corp, but their impact score ranks just behind Patagonia. They truly believe that what we wear matters. In addition to the chic, useful, wear-everywhere designs this entire team has come to love, Frank & Eileen prioritizes sustainability, ensuring every garment is traceable from seed to finish and meets OKEO-TEX Standard 100 for the absence of harmful chemicals.

Oh and every piece is machine washable, too.

If you’re a sweatpants & sweatshirts kind of girl (hi, it me), their triple fleece line – including the travel sets that have all the TME editors raving – is crafted in California by LA-based artisans, creating local jobs while upholding B-Corp certified practices.

And if you, too, have been eying up Frank & Eileen’s oversized-white button-up for months, thinking that it looks juuuust like the shirts-turned-swim-cover-ups the cool girls in France were wearing last summer…SAME.

Take Me To The Shore: Chic Sets, The Coolest Swim Cover-Up & A Button-Up That’s Casual-Sexy

Since I spend a decent amount of time at the shore in the summer, here are a few Frank & Eileen favorites that would be especially good at the beach.

1. The Shirley: An Oversized Button-Up (That Doubles As A Swim-Cover Up)

This 100% cotton poplin shirt (woven and made in Mauritius) is like wearing your husband’s ancient, suuuper soft, white button-down shirt. Except, it looks better. The Shirley nails the oversized look in a really sexy, feminine way. And because the cotton poplin itself is freaking perfect (thin, strong, soft, and a little sheer), it’ll never look bulky – even with shorts.

The Shirley is a little longer in the back, too, so looks seriously cute with a swimsuit & flip-flops.

Runs a bit big – I went down one full size and still had a little bit of room.

2. Classic Chambray, But Make It…Sexy?

This denim shirt is lightweight and soft enough to be chambray, but vibes a little more like actual denim. I love it. With gold jewelry, sandals, and my trusy ‘ol cut-offs, this is exactly what I want to wear for date nights at the shore.

This shirt is one of the ‘Eileen’ styles – my hands-down favorite. I now own this shirt in denim, flannel, and white linen. It’s a classic shape, with absolutely perfect button placement. The denim fabric is woven in Italy (the mill is literally centuries-old), and then made in California. These shirts fit TTS.

3. Striiiipes!!

Frank & Eileen’s sweatshorts are great. Not too long (but not too short, either), this is the one piece I pull on the most often at the shore. Early morning coffee runs? Yes. Running down to the beach to sunscreen the boys before they head out in the surf? Absolutely.

And while one doesn’t *have* to go with the stripes (this set is also available in navy, black, white, etc.) the stripes are really, really fun. (There’s also a striped hoodie, if so inclined – I think it’s Linzi’s favorite.) This set fits a tiiiiny bit big. While I sized down previously (I have the navy, sweatshorts, too), I wanted the striped shorts to fit a little looser, so I went with my usual size.

4. The Travel Set

At this point, I’ve tried several of Frank & Eileen’s travel sets. This one, The Malibu, is great…but not my favorite. It does have gorgeous lines, though, and I found the white to be surprisingly cool – much cooler than my navy set (and FYI: we shot this on a 90 degree day in Ocean City).

So if you’re looking for something wildly comfortable and very, deeply, chic…this set, especially in white(!!) is great. But if you’re on the shorter side, I still think Frank & Eileen’s Greece Set is my personal favorite. Or, if you want a travel set that’s a little warmer (and can easily be worn with snowboots in the winter), then The Venice Set might be your best bet.

That said…one really can’t go wrong with any of Frank & Eileen’s travel sets. They wash and dry really well, and never lose their shape – even on overnight flights.

I’ll admit that slipping on this comfy set after being covered in sand & saltwater all day was pretty dreamy.

And Lobster Rolls never hurt, either.
