Get Inspired For January: 5 Cute Looks

One of my simple joys in life is planning all the outfits I want to wear throughout the year. The start of a new year means I’m ready for a revamp. Not a total revamp, but a partial one. I’ll still get use out of my favorite pieces till they’re literally ripped to shreds. Heh.

So with that, I’ve been doing a little perusing around the webs to get some inspo for my 2024 wardrobe. I’ve come up with a list of things I’m eyeing or already have that I’ll get even more use out of in the upcoming year, below. Hint: the shoes and jackets are my weakness.

Inspo For Your January 2024 Wardrobe: Elevating Basics

Considering I tend to stick to what I know and feel most comfortable in, a lot of these pieces are things I already have, but finding fresh new ways to wear them? That’s my jam. Adding fun, new shoes or an interesting, trendy jacket on top of the basics I own is essentially where my mind’s at so far. Hopefully, this gives you guys all the inspo for January too. Happy New Year!

Outfit 1: A Pop Of Red

Red seems to be the big color going into 2024. Although you might not see me in a bright red sweater (I’m getting there, guys) I’m loving the idea of adding it in with my shoes like ballet flats or pointed heels. Adds a little somethin’ somethin’ to an all-neutral outfit.

Outfit 2: A Tee + Jeans, Elevated

Once upon a time I would’ve never added brown, gray and black into one outfit. But making all of my neutrals work together? Oh, yes. I’m in. Elevate your basic tee with a cool jacket, sleek boots and most importantly — accessorize! Beanies, sunglasses, leather gloves and a pretty (silver) purse take it up a notch.

Outfit 3: Sweatshirts, Refreshed

I love my graphic sweatshirts. They’re basically the thing I live in the most. (Abercrombie has my favorites right now…SO soft). Sometimes, though, I don’t just wanna wear them with leggings. Pop on a jacket with an interesting collar and wide-leg, cuffed jeans to give those old hoodies a refresh. Just add cozy UGGs and your go-to accessories.

Outfit 4: Trousers + Tailored Tops

I saw this top-jacket-hybrid from Free People and instantly fell in love. I’d wear it super casual with jeans and sneakers, but I had to style it up with trousers. I’d fancify it a bit with some heels, but for casual days I’d add in some high-top sneaks.

Outfit 5: Cool Sneakers + Fancy Jackets

Sneakers rule my closet. They’re the shoes I reach for most often, so I do my best to mix it into my fancier pieces like a cropped blazer or pretty wrap coat and dark-wash, wide-leg jeans.
