Although we’ve been spending most of our time at home…in cozy clothes…likely curled up in a comfy chair/couch…it doesn’t necessarily mean we’re actually relaxed or have had a good night’s sleep. It’s been hard to switch off work-mode and switch on me-time mode because, well, it’s been pretty freakin hard to be cooped up at home for nine months on end with nothing else to do (not to mention a general feeling of unease over the state of our world).
Living in a pandemic is stressful. And sleep, that magic stress-buster, is more elusive than ever.
If you know someone who could seriously benefit from some calming, deep-sleep-inducing gifts this holiday season (even if that someone is you), look no further. The following 15 gift ideas would work wonders for that relaxation-deficient family member or friend in your life. (And if these don’t work, Lex has some really boring studious posts on creating the right sleep atmosphere here and here….might beat counting sheep.)
Oh, and by the way — have you checked out Holiday Central yet? Go now…holiday sales, gift ideas and outfit inspo all in one spot. It’s a happy place.

1/ Moon Beam Sleep Aid
OK, here’s the deal with this one; “This drug-free device helps you fall asleep more easily through scientific research and an easy-to-use mechanism. Keep it by your bedside and just touch it once (or twice for a longer session) when you’re ready to relax. A gently pulsing light projects on the ceiling, creating a hypnotic effect that helps quiet anxious thoughts and slow down your breathing to a sleep-inducing level. It’s a naturally meditative method for preparing your mind and body for a comforting cruise through dreamland.” …..Um, wow.
2/ Eucalyptus Headache & Sinus Pillow
Oh my goodness, I need this. It’s a pillow (shaped like a leaf — that’s literally a photo of the pillow itself), filled with a natural blend of eucalyptus, mint and flax seeds that help soothe you to sleep. It has that organic cotton leaf design on the front and pure silk on the back. Reviews say it’s even better if you throw it in the freezer before using for a cooling effect. Sounds simply magical.
3/ Yoga In A Cup Elixir
This is basically a sippable yoga session. Genius. It’s a mixture of a bunch of organic herbs & ingredients to mix into your drink of choice for a really good calming and de-stressing zen latte.
4/ Good At Naps Throw
I love these blankets by designer Kerry Stokes. She has a bunch of really cute and funny designs like one baby blanket that says “Eat Poop Sleep”. Lol.
5/ SLIP Silk Sleep Mask
I’ll never stop adding these to all my cozy/self-care/sleep posts. They’re just so useful and so, so good. Once you try it you’ll be addicted to the quality of sleep that results from using one of these bad boys. (Reviews claim that the gentle silk wash makes all the difference when giving your silk items a good cleaning.)
6/ Sleep Collection Essential Oils
Essential oil diffusers are a no-brainer if you’re looking to de-stress and get ready to hit the hay. I love this Sleep Collection set that includes notes of lavender, chamomile, rose, vetiver, ylang ylang, white lotus and jasmine. Ahhhhh.
7/ Cooling Weighted Blanket
Oh wow — a cooling one. I’ve wanted one of these for SO long but I get nervous that I’ll overheat because that’s usually what happens when I pile on more than one blanket. This one cools with a special duvet color and comes in 15-, 20-, and 25-pound weights. Best of both worlds.
8/ Globe Salt Lamp
I love the shape of this salt lamp. It just seems… extra calming to me? Does that make sense? I’m a huge lover of these lamps. They’ll truly transform your sleep space into a dreamy little world. I promise.
9/ Sleep Mist
I’ve heard SUCH good things about this sleep mist — and the smell is seriously incredible. The scents of chamomile + lavender are otherworldly. Such a luxurious stocking stuffer.
10/ White Noise Machine
This thing is a staple in many people’s lives — and their babies’. It’s good for all ages, but would be a really good gift for new moms or for those who live in high-noise areas.
11/ A Really Good Pillow
Another super well-loved item; an incredibly good pillow. This may seem like a boring gift but trust me (and the 700+ reviewers), it isn’t. The Parachute website has tons of amazing bedding and accessories to amp up your sleeping experience.
12/ Slippers
These look SO cozy. They come in 4 really pretty neutral colors and are a really good slipper option that’s (way) under $100. They’re sustainable too (100% recycled nylon), which alone will probably make you sleep a little better at night (hehe).
13/ Weighted Sleep Mask
Oooo… This is interesting. The description claims that “gentle pressure equals better sleep,” and I think I agree. It wraps around the head and rests over the eyes with equally weighted pods of scent-free, machine washable microbeads. It contours to the shape of your face for light-blocking comfort with no elastic, straps or Velcro. So many good reviews.
14/ Dreamy Bath Soak
If you’re REALLY trying to reach your most zen (zennest? nah) state — take a bath before bed and throw some of this sweet dream-inducing powder in there. Thank me later. (Musee has some ridiculously good smelling bath teas, bombs and soaks. Really cute little things to gift.)
15/ Cashmere Robe
Damn, the luxury. NAADAM‘s lounge & sleep page is full of a bunch of soft, cozy sleepwear options to treat yourself or your gift recipient. This cashmere waffle robe is made from 70% recycled cashmere and is “very soft” on the softness scale. Love.
You’re getting sleepier… and sleepier….
