I am definitely a gal who craves change. Give me something new on the regular and I’m happy…not only when it comes to clothing, but also when it comes to my home.
While I don’t ‘decorate for the seasons’ necessarily, I love a little update inside when it gets warmer outside. And I love that it doesn’t take much to make a space feel fresh and different. Over the years, I’ve realized a few simple swaps in a room can really bring on a whole new vibe.
Beachy Vibes: Coastal Home Decor For A Fresh Summer Update
For summer, I love to swap in some throw pillows, artwork, and tableware with brighter pops of color. You can bring in that beachy boho feel without going straight for the shell frames or nautical theme by simply adding some greenery with foliage (I see you, pretty monstera leaves!) and textured baskets.
All of these can be done reasonably and don’t take loads of time or effort — especially thanks to the ease of shopping Walmart Home, so you can get back out in the sunshine…which is always the goal this time of year.
01 | Beach Print
I adore the whole feeling this print gives. How amazing would it be to stare at it daily? I’m thinking we may need this in our master bath or it would be so lovely in a guest room.
02 | Brass Vase
I mean, this is just stunning. I’ve already determined I need it in my dining room. I’m a sucker for gorgeous brass pieces and collect them. They are classic and never seem to go out of style.
03 | Brass Planters
Again with the brass…these are beautifully patina’d and would be pretty filled with succulents or trailing plants on any shelf or table.
04 | Yellow Throw Pillows
Love the textured stripe on these and they’re a beautiful earthier yellow (easier to work in with natural tones than a super bright shade is.)
05 | Fresh White Towels
Nothing says fresh more than new white towels!
06 | Diamond Print Sheets
Love the straw color print on the white background. These feel easy to pair with so many other colors or patterns you may already have in your bedroom décor.
07 | Woven Baskets
These are great for holding blankets, toys, or other clutter, as we know, but I also like to put them around my plant pots for more texture and the slightly boho, eclectic vibe I love.
08 | Monstera Fronds
I am very particular about which faux plants I’ll use in the home, but monstera and palm fronds pass the test. They look so LA-beachy-tropical that I love having them in just about any room.
I love the vintage vibe of these useful plastic glasses. They add a little old-world touch to some of these more modern pieces…and of course a great pop of color! Perfect on a white table and easy to take outside without worry!
And to continue the eclectic-but-beachy-fresh thing we have going on, I threw in these great bright striped napkins. Love love this shade. They’d compliment white dishes and a giant pitcher of lemonade so well!
Shop More Chic Beachy Home Finds
Being a hometown-Walmart gal, (yes, I grew up in Bentonville, Arkansas…I’m actually here right now!) I’ve been a long-time fan of their fun Walmart Home finds I can work in with the rest of my décor. When pulling this little beachy collection together, I was stoked to come across such chic pieces that say ‘summery but elevated.’ LOVE how these came together and can’t wait to add a few of these to my living and dining rooms when I get back home!
I’m loving the current summery lookbooks on Walmart.com right now, too. You can get even more ideas than I’ve shown above for the living room, bedroom, bathroom (gah, that lemon shower curtain!) and more…including super cute pieces under $35 for any room.
What are your favorite little swaps to make to freshen up your house for the warmer months? As always, I love to hear what you’re doing for a similar summery update. Until next time…
