My kids did get a dog this year at their father’s house: a big one. While we do not have a dog at our house, we do have several dogs we love who stop by on the regular. They know the way to my house, and also know that I will stop whatever I’m doing to play. Sometimes they spend the day or a weekend, and then they go home…until they come back. This is my own perfect puppy situation, for now. They are here frequently enough, though, that I recently started shopping for a few treats and better bowls for them, and…well, one cute dog thing led to another, and now I’m obsessed with modern dog design and all the dog treats!
My top obsessions (almost as cute as the dogs in our lives) are these fun Scandi Cloud dog beds, Elevated bowls, Nordicware bone-shaped treat trays, Wild One Triangle Tug toys, and sustainable leashes from the likes of House of Dogge via West Elm! And even some earth-friendly Wild One Poop Bags that are also….adorable? Yes. Yes they are.

1| BARK Pet Placemat
In the shape of a bone, with a cute graphic, makes for the perfect place(mat) to keep food and water bowls off the floor and in their spot.
2 | Elevated Pet Bowls
These are obviously not one size fits all, in fact…they are entirely customizable. You can choose a height, any height, AND you can choose a tilt or not. Each stand comes with two bowls and leg grippers to keep them from moving around. They are absolutely some of the most well-designed, most beautiful bowls!
3 | Triangle Tug
Two shapes, two textures, made with 100% BPA & Phthalate free, natural rubber and 100% natural cotton, equals more fun for tug sessions with the pups, especially the larger ones! We pretty much love everything Wild One makes for dogs, this tug especially!
4 | Nordic Ware Puppy Love Treat Pan
This is an adorable bake pan for homemade dog treats! Can be purchased alone, or as a set with the mix to make the treats. I just ordered one for my youngest, our baker, so that she can focus her efforts on baking for her dog and the pups that visit us regularly here, rather than her people (her people could all use a tiny treat break to reset). I ordered the pan alone, and I’m going to ask Grace to “search-up” some recipes to try!
5 | Super Banana Treat Dispensing Toy
These bounce erratically, given the fun shape which is great for playing, and you can tuck treats in the bottom as well! Comes in a few other fruit flavors as well, like the orange one below!
6 | Zee Dog Orange Treat Dispensing Toy
From the same company as the Super Banana above, in a poly sided orange shape, which will also bounce erratically — surprises are fun in play!
7 | Up Dog Treat Dispensing Toy
Up Dog’s treat dispensing toy similar to the Banana and Orange, also really cute and fun for play!
8 | Neon Tetra Climbing Rope Dog Leash
Available in both a 4′ and a 6′ length, super stylish dog leash in beautiful colors! Can handle a strong pull, and is a bit weighty, so better for bigger dogs.
9 | House Dogge B-Boo Leather Leash
I can already see the actual dog owners rolling their eyes at these, because this leash is so, so, so very gorgeous, how could it possibly be practical? I have a strong guess that they are. The local maker, House Dogge is a dog owner herself, so I’m going on a leap of faith here and saying, she can be trusted to have designed something that’s modern, gorgeous and practical. Her collaboration as a maker with West Elm is where she first caught my eye. The Bo-Boo Leash is sustainably made by hand in Portland, Oregon, with a vegetable-tanned leash and a hand-sanded bamboo handle. It’s available in two sizes, and five color pops. And I now have a crush on everything House of Dogge designs. Check out that time Angela, House of Dogge and her dog, Wubbi were featured for Schoolhouse Electric!
10 | Wild One Poop Bag Carrier
Attaches to a leash so you’re never without a bag, these are double thick (because poop scooping is no joke), and made of corn, soooo…eco-friendly. My mind spun twice when I realized biodegrable poop was being trapped in non-biodegradable plastic poop bags. Right. So better-for-the-earth bags. Refills available as well.
11 | Primetime Reversible Fabric Pet Lounge
The fabric reverses!!!! Amazing. Easy assembly, easy to clean, and flip the fabric to refresh the fun! We need one of these in human size too. I’m also seeing a case for these on a patio, porch or yard for the dog days of summer, where a little lift from the wet porch or grass might be helpful.
12 | Grainsack Dog Bed
Made from eco-friendly, recycled post-consumer plastic bottles, the covers are removable and machine-washable. Available in three colors: red, blue and black, and three sizes: S, M, and L, these rustic beauties are so cute and comfy, that while they are technically dog beds, I’m also considering them as additional people seating for the patio (outdoor board games?).
13 | LayloPets Dog Bed
Available in many size options and with an accident-resistant orthopedic insert, or it can be used as a cover for a bed you might already own that needs a refresh. The carry handle is a nice detail, and helpful for the dogs who like to move around their lounge spot. The cover couldn’t be cuter!
14 | Scandinavian Cloud Dog Day Bed
In truth, yes, I am wishing for one of these in people size. It does in fact resemble a grey cloud and is an absolutely perfect cuddle spot for a nice nap.
I now have carts full of doggie day care goodies for all my furry visiting friends.
