Every year when the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale rolls around, I get lots of questions about the best tips and tricks for shopping the sale.
It is certainly a different experience for plus-size babes than it is for those shopping for straight sizes, and now that we are heading into my eighth year shopping the sale I have some seriously helpful tips to make shopping the sale a little less stressful and a whole lot more fun.
And, as always, there’s TME’s Ultimate Guide to help you out too.
How To Find The Best Plus-Size Clothes In The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Let’s get into my three best tips for shopping the #NSale as stress-free as possible for curvy & plus-size babes!
NSale Plus-Size Shopping Tip 1: Shop By Category
When it comes to shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I find it to be so much easier to shop by category.
Think about what you need in your closet, what gaps you might have, and what trends you might be thinking of trying for the season. I tend to gravitate towards three, sometimes four, specific categories: jeans, jackets, high-quality/designer pieces, and athleisure. When I know exactly what kind of pieces I am looking for, I can zero in on those specific items without getting distracted by all the other selections available.
Although, since I am always on the hunt for all the best things for you all, I tend to spend a lot of time perusing every single piece so that I can spill all the tea on those hidden gems and give outfit recommendations for all of you plus-size shoppers.
Shop My Favorite Jeans, Jackets & High-End Finds
Just in case you are curious as to what I currently have in my #NSale wishlist, here is a little round-up of my top jeans, jackets & high-end pieces in this year’s sale.
NSale Plus-Size Shopping Tip 2: Shop Straight-Size Brands
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a plus-size babe who shops straight-size brands. I’ve learned the brands that tend to create oversized pieces that will fit ultra-curvy babes, and also have become an expert in knowing which fabrics will have more stretch and give for plus-size people.
Free People is my number one straight-size brand to shop for during the #NSale. Their sweaters, tops & jackets tend to be quite oversized and I find that their L & XL pieces fit me very well. I also find that most tops from Cinq a Sept fit me well, and clothing items that are made of jersey, knit, elastane or spandex will most likely fit my body.
Shop My Straight-Size Selections
These are the straight-size pieces I am planning on trying out this year! There are some seriously gorgeous sweaters and an oh-so-sexy, see-through long-sleeve is at the very top of my list.
NSale Plus-Size Shopping Tip 3: Try A Nordstrom Personal Stylist
If you’re looking for a little extra help with your shopping experience, or perhaps it’s your first-time with shopping the sale, then I recommend reaching out to Nordstrom to shop with a personal stylist.
Shopping with a Nordstrom stylist can be so incredibly helpful as they will pull pieces that you may not have otherwise considered. They are also great at helping you pull entire looks together and have always been the best at creating such an enjoyable in-person shopping experience for me.
And if you aren’t planning on shopping in-store, then I recommend you follow us closely here on The Mom Edit because our entire team dedicates so much time to doing the work for you! We research the best pieces, find hidden gems, and give daily recommendations of the pieces worth scooping up every year during the sale. Don’t forget to bookmark our ultimate guide to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale — all things related to the sale live there, and feel free to drop me a DM on Instagram if you want personal recommendations from me!
If there is one thing I want you plus-size babes to take away from shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, it’s to just have fun! Let go of the stress that often comes with shopping as a plus-size person, and enjoy the experience for what it is, a moment to peek and shop some of the upcoming fall trends.
Sending you all the best of vibes for a great shopping experience this year!
