6 Days Of Outfits, 1 Pair of Striped Linen Pants

You’ve probably seen the boxer pants trend going around. There’s a part of me that says yes, I love them and I don’t care if they look like pjs. The other part of me started thinking, what about striped linen pants? Or at the very least, a linen blend or lightweight cotton…

Linen Pants

Hear me out: they’re slightly more elevated than boxer pants, but the stripe detail and lightweight material gives a similar effect. They’re a good introduction to the whole boxer pants phenomenon, but I think they’ll outlast them. (Let’s be honest, you can’t go wrong with striped linen pants in the summer since…forever?).

Styling Striped Linen Pants 6 Ways For Summer

If you’re someone like me that tends to gravitate towards pants even in the heat, then lightweight striped pants are perfect. Right now, I’m eyeing the Caslon ones, but here are a few more also I’m considering:

Day 1: Add Some Denim + Graphics

Adding a pop of color with a graphic tee and pulling in an interesting denim jacket is probably how I’d wear these striped pants the most often. Oh, and sneakers, of course.

NOTES: We’ve had our eyes on all the cool denim jackets. This one from Anthro comes in petite and plus, too. Definitely click through the adidas Gazelle color options…they’re so good (more colors + sizes at Dick’s). I’m torn between the yellow ones above and the baby blue with yellow combo.

Day 2: Grab A Fun Blouse

We’ve been eyeing this GANNI blouse for a bit now, so I had to see how it would go with the Caslon pants. I was surprised by how much I liked the pattern/color combo. Adding in darker accessories helped pull it all together.

NOTES: Shana’s been using her cream colored Clare V. bag for years at this point, but Abby recently brought the black version into the office. We were immediately swooning over it and shocked by how it still works for warm-weather outfits. And because I don’t typically wear anything overly fancy, I like the idea of pairing a baseball hat with a frilly blouse. Balance!

Day 3: Put On A Soft Polo

I’ve been peaking at all the textured polos, and thought it could help fancify the pants just a tad bit. I’d give it a slight tuck for a little slouch.

NOTES: I’d either go for a pretty bralette or skin-toned cami for under the polo. After that, I’d pop on some sandals and my go-to summer accessories. I know low-profile shoes are all the rage, but I’ll forever love a chunky platform sandal.

Day 4: Make It Moody

Now, you know I have to make it a little moody with some darker shades. The leopard just wasn’t enough! For summer date nights, this is the one I’d go with. The linen top (that Shana loves) makes it a little more sleek without the added heat. (And gosh, those buttons…)

NOTES: I can’t help but drool a little over the nostalgic Coach patterned bags. The denim one might be my fave find so far. I’d be tempted to go with the Beek slides that Shana swears by, but might add in a summery heel if I wanna feel even more dressed up.

Day 5: Try A High-Neck Top

I find that high-neck tops look super chic, so for days when I wanna feel a little more put-together for a brunch or dinner but keep all the comfort…I’d pair that with striped linen pants.

NOTES: Just a moment for that sweet floral purse. Thank you, thank you. That green knit top is selling quick, but the cream color would look just as good.

Day 6: Pop On A Vest

Any vest top will make striped linen pants feel more interesting with the little details and buttons they often have, but I’m really feeling this denim one right now.

NOTES: I’m trying to find the perfect vest top. (The girls don’t exactly make it the easiest fit-wise). BUT, I refuse to give up, so right now I’m eyeing that Abercrombie one. The denim feels timeless. You could go total yeehaw with some cowboy boots, or keep it easy with classic Birks. I’d try both.

Are we on the striped pants bandwagon, yet?

  1. When you find that perfect vest, do let us know–I’ve been wanting to try the trend but have hesitated for the same reason you mention! Thanks for this round up too! 😀
