I’m Still Wearing This $29 Swimsuit

Friends. More swimsuit talk! I wanted to follow up my previous post about this amazing, inexpensive swimsuit with another look at it, plus how I’m wearing it and styling it for summer. I’m still impressed by its flattering fit and the fact that it holds you in. And I’m loving it styled with a fun kimono and white sandals for a full beach-worthy, pool-worthy outfit.

This suit is a little bit sexy, but still something I feel totally comfortable in hanging out at the pool. Is it for active swimming or diving or water parks? Probs not, but the gals still stay in place during my normal pool-hanging activities like poolside mermaid twirls and basic playing in the water. But also, thank god Sienna is big enough now that I can sit with my feet in the water or lounge in a chair while she swims. Hooray! I’ve arrived.

Outfit Details

Cupshe Vintage Lace Swimsuit – Thick fabric, flattering cut, not too cheeky. I adore this. It also fits true to size, which was surprising, and it gets — yes — over 1,000 reviews. The only negative comments I saw were that it wasn’t long enough for one customer who is 5’11”, and the bra inset was too low on her. There are reviews of all sizes and shapes. It seems this bathing suit works well on a large variety of bodies. So cool. TTS. Wearing a Small.

Emerson Fry Tiger Kimono – The black is sadly sold out, but this hot pink is AMAZINGNESS! If you’re looking for a cool black kimono I like this one

White Birk Style Sandals (similar) – Mine are sold out, but now I want the real deal. White sandals are so fresh and on- trend and you know I love my Birks. I’m also loving these reasonable white slides from Native for a similar look, and a super-wearable pair for pool and beach time.

Straw Bag – This bag is reasonable and cute, and though not super-sturdy for heavy things, it worked perfectly for our towels and sunscreen. It’s super-cute, and comes in a lighter and darker shade, too.

Again, be aware when you click through to the suit, there are three colors that are the same fit — blue, olive, and the black and white stripe I’m wearing. We're still as obsessed w/ the $29 Cupshe bathing suit, the 1 with over 1,000 reviews, as we were when we 1st tried it. We’re easing into actual summer here in the Northwest, hence the indoor swimming still happening out here. But alas, the little native Oregonians are already hopping in the outdoor waters, but yeah I wasn’t up for that yet. Haha. Happy summertime, mamas! May we all get a chance to slow down and not try to feel guilty if we don’t get ALL THE THINGS done all the time. I’m giving myself some space to take a break and take time to hang with my little mermaid this summer. Until next time…

Her fun, creative style is, as she says, "somewhere between Madewell and Joan Jett" (YES.) and she delivers some mean dressing room selfies so keep an eye out for those. Fun fact? She loves getting her hair cut and we love to see what she has up her sleeve.

  1. You both look fantastic! I bough this suit, but haven’t worn it yet. Our summer has been quite rainy so far and even though we’ve been at the pool it’s been for rainy swim team meets. Hopefully soon! Will report back. Love your style per usual. Keep up the great work!

I had this on on the beach on Sunday! You look fabulous in it! I like how it looks on me, but a word of warning…it is super low cut and I’m about a 38D. I have to be careful about turning from the waist and quick movements. If you have a large chest and little kids requiring quick movements, it might not be the suit for you! Luckily, my kids are big, so my days at the beach involve lots of sitting on a chair with a beverage reminding people to reapply more sunblock.

  3. I ordered the suit to try last time it was mentioned and did end up returning it :/ But only because it wasn’t flattering on my super-flat 32A bust. It’s so low-cut that you need at least a little bit of your own cleavage/perkiness.

    • Ah dang thank you so much for your comment. It’s so helpful when we can hear from people with all different body types. I’m sorry that one didn’t work out but we’ll keep searching for other styles!

I really want to try this suit after the amazing reviews! I have yet to find a one piece that looks decent on me. I am tall, with a long torso and no curves. One pieces usually creep where they don’t belong, or make me look extra straight up and down.

  5. Love the way this looks on you! Where is sienna’s lovely ensemble from? My three daughters are obsessed with mermaids!
