I Tried 10 J.Crew Winter Coats (Parkas, Puffer Jackets & Topcoats)

J. Crew is always my first go-to when it comes to finding cute (and warm!) winter coats. The best cuts, fabrics, and colors always seem to come from there and I look forward to seeing their new styles every year.

I recently did a big J.Crew coat review and try-on for 2023. If you want to see pictures and read in-depth about each piece, that article is for you.

If you’d rather see them quickly tried-on, you’ve found the right place. (Links below!)

A J.Crew Coat Review & Try-On (Parkas, Puffer Jackets & Topcoats..Oh My!)

**All coats worn with: sweater (s) | jeans (28) | boots (also at Amazon)

1. Warwick Topcoat in Italian stadium-cloth wool blend (2) – This one also comes in grey, beige, navy, and black but I was drawn to this bright pink color – call it Barbiecore or dopamine dressing, but it’s just an instant mood-booster!

2. New Lady Day Topcoat in Italian double-cloth wool blend (4) – The best thing about this coat (aside from the Thinsulate liner for extra warmth!) is always the fun colors it comes in. This year (in addition to the red above and classic black), it’s available in purple, pink, orange, and ivory colors.

3. Cropped Red Puffer (xs) – This was a miss for me this year? Some reviewers loved it, but I agree with the one who said the shoulders and sleeves are “comically huge.” Loved the bright red color, though. And the Puffer Snowsuit with PrimaLoft comes in that same color and was actually my favorite from the whole haul. (See it on me here.)

4. Mirabelle Topcoat (4) – This one looked great buttoned up and also comes in a pretty light blue, camel, and classic black.

5. New Daphne Topcoat (2) – This was another repeat favorite from a previous post. I like this one because it’s like a heavy sweater and doesn’t have the same somewhat restrictive feel of a typical coat. This one also come in a bright sunny yellow, pretty pink, and classic camel and black.

6. Cocoon Coat (4) – This Cocoon Coat is my second overall pick. I love the standing collar that isn’t too overwhelming and the fabric that’s super warm without being bulky. It also comes in a gorgeous green color as well as grey and classic black.

7. Long Villa Coat (2) – I’m going to stick to the shorter version of this coat that I have and love (which also comes in a gorgeous red, bright blue, ivory, black, and camel), but the long version would look great on a taller person (and also comes in black).

8. Chateau Parka – Ok, so when it came to the actual coats, the winner was the exact same coat I chose as the winner back in 2020: The Chateau Parka in Italian Stadium Cloth. The fabric is super warm so there’s no need for extra bulky filling. It also comes in grey, camel, and a pretty bright pink color. (And was also made at a Fair Trade Certified™ factory!)

9. Double-Breasted Topcoat (2) – This menswear-inspired coat is made from “Melton wool fabric,” a wool that’s nice and smooth and is oversized by design. It also comes in a coffee brown and orchid pink.

10. Palais Topcoat (4) – I like the unique collar and wide shoulders on this one. Also in brown and ivory, I’m wearing the black here, but it appears more navy (both in person and in the picture) than J.Crew’s website shows.
