Back when Everlane was running a denim sale, I went a little crazy and ordered a bunch of jeans to try. The thing is, as popular as Everlane is here at The Mom Edit, I had only ever tried their jeans once. Then, our entire team tried their High-Rise Skinny Button-Fly jean and I fell in love. So much so, that the second Everlane jeans went on sale, I jumped at the chance to try more.
I narrowed it down to about four pairs to keep and wanted to share thoughts from my haul.
Everlane Denim Try-On: How These Jeans Really Fit
My biggest takeaway from this massive try-on = Everlane’s sizing, for me, definitely varies by style. I’m usually a size 28 or 29, but that can fluctuate based on brand, style, fabric, etc. Before ordering, read the reviews — I found them super-helpful in finding the right size.
So, in the spirit of avoiding the dreaded package return process right now, I’m hoping I can give you guys a little more insight into how the sizing was for me…
1. Everlane Authentic Stretch High-Rise Skinny Button Fly
You know those game-changing Everlane skinnies I mentioned above? These. They are hands-down the best high-waisted black jeans I’ve ever owned — not to mention, some of the most flattering and comfortable. I love them SO much that I actually bought a second pair (yep, same exact jeans) so I don’t have to worry about having a clean fresh pair at the ready. (Does anyone else do that?) These are a must-have. I found them TTS (wearing a 28 below), slimming and the perfect amount of stretch. They’re great for the bum too, giving plenty of lift! There’s not one bad thing I can say about these jeans.

2. Everlane Kick Crop Jeans In Washed Black
This pair delivers some major leg-lengthening magic. I’ve always loved the idea of kick crop flares, but in the past, I’ve found this style tends to make me look a little wider and shorter than I like. This pair, however, does the opposite. I found them super-flattering, slimming, and somehow butt-lifting (like the first pair). These even have a stitch at the bottom of the raw hem so you don’t need to worry about it coming undone after multiple rounds in the washer. My favorite thing about these jeans has to be how they feel; soft (yet sturdy) with just enough stretch. All while keeping their shape beautifully. I found these to run on the larger side, so I’d say order one size down.

3. Everlane Kick Crop Jeans In Dark Blue
These were a surprise favorite! My closet is full of light to medium washes or just plain old black so I needed to mix things up for once and try these. I came for the color but I stayed for the fit — I LOVE the way these look on. Though they have the same name as the black kick crops above, they fit and feel entirely different to me.
The dark blue option has a slimmer ankle flare compared to the wider flare of the black wash (which I think looks a little more slimming and overall more flattering on me than the washed black). Also, while both pairs are made from 89% cotton and 2% elastane, I found the black to be much stretchier — even the feel of the fabric struck me as different. Where the black wash is soft and stretchy, these are more stiff and structured (although they still have a small amount of stretchiness to them). The differences aren’t bad, just something to be aware of while shopping. I mean, I kept them both, so no complaints here. These were TTS for me.

4. Everlane Authentic Stretch High-Rise Skinny Jeans In Deep Indigo
My first thoughts seeing these jeans: There’s no way I’ll get these past my calves — I won’t like these at all. SPOILER: I do like them. When it comes to skinny jeans, I have one rule: they gotta have stretch and they gotta have a LOT of it. Well, everything I thought I knew went out the window when I tried these.
These are definitely on the structured side (i.e. not a TON of stretch) and yet, they slid right over my calves and fit like a glove. I’m obsessed. Sleek, chic, classic, done. I ordered my regular size (28) and although snug, they fit comfortably. I could probably go up to a 29 and be OK, though.

5. Everlane Cheeky Bootcut Jeans In Sunbleached Blue
These jeans seem to get a LOT of love…so I had to try them. I ultimately was not a fan of how these fit, but I think it came down to sizing. I sized one up assuming they would be super stiff and tight, but at the end of the day needed my trusty size 28s. Looking back on reviews, a lot of people said they ordered one size down from their regular size and were totally happy with the fit. On paper, these have everything I love in a pair of jeans: high-waist, high-set pockets plus a leg-lengthening shape (and that color for summer is SO good, too).
I might have to re-order these in my size and one down! But here’s how they look if you’ve been eyeing them up…
