Here are a handful of gifts perfect for bringing to the holiday house party (a colored wine glasses set to use with guests, a game or two to bust out with smaller groups), last-minute additions to wrap up other gifts (travel journal, the best-smelling bath salts), or leaving out for the mailman (a big soup mug, Quince gift card).

If you’ve been putting off grabbing something for your difficult-to-buy-for friend or family member, get them something randomly luxe like a heated razor, an easy-to-use camera, a seriously neat dice or checkers set, a new overnight bag, or my current favorite sweater (for men & women! I got the men’s for a longer, oversized shape). There’s also this cool poker set, a portable cordless blender (?!?), my go-to fleece sweatpants, or a pretty vase to fill with flowers or sprigs.

This lil category is filled with unique gifts for someone that you don’t mind splurging on. Odds are they don’t already have the the new wool + leather edition of the L.L.Bean Boat Tote, a cosmetic bag prettier than this one (or this one), a matching puffer pouch bundle, or an Aura frame. If they do… get them the Chanel shimmer body oil or the Tom Ford F****** Fab candle. They’ll feel so spoiled.

And for the biggest gifts (for perhaps the most special of recipients or yourself), I’d grab a 100% organic cotton or a silky pajama set, a pair of heated gloves, an adorably unique sweater or a giant wooden cutting board. And if $300+ splurge is in the budget… get them an Acne Studios scarf or this ridiculously perfect customizable bundle from Free People. Genius.

  1. Abby! What size did you get in the iconic J. Crew men’s rollneck? I lived through those the first time around and the nostalgia factor is high. I’d love to have one again, but the new women’s version just isn’t the same—back in the day, today’s men’s style was the style for both men’s and women’s versions. Now, I just can’t figure out what men’s size to get! I don’t want giant, but I also don’t want too small to accommodate curves, you know? (I’m petite, 5’3″ and 113-115 lbs., but with a definite hourglass-y shape for my size.)

  2. I got a men’s medium! It fits me perfectly – love that it hits below my waist + the long sleeves. I’d try a men’s small if you can.
