Ahh, time for swimsuits. This year, my goal is to just have fun. When I put on a swimsuit it probably means I’m going in a pool, in a lake, to a spa, or to the beach, so yeah…I’m gonna enjoy! My body has changed a lot over the past 5 years. Really, it’s changed a ton over the past 3 years. Hello, perimenopause. So it was time for me to update my beloved Left On Friday swimwear.
A reality (and dare I say perk?) of this job is that I am forced to look at my body every day and have learned to love it. Is this always easy or do I feel great about it every day? No. But do I love all that it’s done for me, how it still allows me to workout, dance, get stronger, do the things I need it to for the most part? YES.
It’s a real up-and-down journey and I know we all have different ups and downs. But we really have to look those in the eye when putting on swimwear, eh?

Left On Friday: The Swimwear Brand I STILL Love In My Late 40’s
Then: Five years ago I was 42. That seems like a lifetime ago. I had a 6-year-old, it was pre-pandemic, I was in Mexico on vacation in February that year, before we knew what would go down. I had gotten in good shape and learned to eat a lot of protein and was feeling awesome. That was the first time I got a Left On Friday suit. I was so freaking comfortable the instant I put it on.

Now: Flash forward to a couple of weeks ago, when I needed to revisit my swimsuit situation for my upcoming trip to Palm Springs. I hadn’t worn my former Left On Friday pieces in a couple of years because I had sized out of them. They almost worked for a while but I felt more comfortable in my one-piece suits.
But as I tried a few more one-pieces, I kept thinking of how great I felt in Left On Friday. The construction of their pieces (specifically the Hide Tide Bottoms) is so phenomenal.

Left On Friday: The Colors
One of the big draws to Left On Friday for me too is the gorgeous color options they offer. I love a mix-and-match moment in my swimwear (remember when Jen Aniston told us all in some fabulous magazine article years ago that she always mixed her bikinis up?) and their colors just somehow mix with each other so beautifully. I’m a bit picky when it comes to color and none of these disappoint. I like them all. I love the earthy shades mixed with the brights and their colors are just all rich and unique.

Are Left On Friday Swimsuits Good For Bigger Busts?
As far as the tops, I’ve been happy with the two I’ve had. As my bust has gotten bigger with weight gain/perimenopause, I’m happier with the racerback Far Out Top in D+ this time around. Previously, I had the Sunday Top with a v front and low coverage. It was super cute, but I like the lift/support of the Far Out top now. And love that they’re offering some D+ options.
So…Are Left On Friday Swimsuits Worth It?
If you’ve been curious about Left On Friday suits I hope this has been helpful. I absolutely think they’re worth a try if they seem like your vibe. Can’t say enough good things about them.
Let me know if you have any additional fit questions! Happy Swimming.
