We’ve been getting questions about maternity outfits lately, and Nordstrom just happened to have the perfect selection. So we did our little ‘Nordstrom looks‘ paper dolls thing and styled up seven maternity dresses for summer.
Cute Summer Outfit Ideas: Maternity Dresses For Every Day Of The Week
From swing dresses to slip dresses and shifts, we’ve got maternity outfit ideas for all summer long. Think of it as your must-have, mama-to-be capsule wardrobe.
1. A Little Swing Dress
You can’t go wrong with a swing dress for the summer. Dress it up with a pair of nude wedges and a clutch, or dress it down with some cute sandals and your favorite crossbody. Just so easy & effortless.
2. A Simple Striped Midi Dress
Love the beachy/nautical vibes of this one. This dress just looks the comfiest, especially with the side ruching. Love it paired with these Vejas (some of the most comfortable sneakers I’ve worn — that is, after cutting down the tongue a little bit) and this cute crochet hobo bag that looks like it could fit just about anything.
3. A Dreamy Flutter-Sleeve Dress
Picturing this dress being worn to some type of fancy garden party of sorts… or simply a back yard. They’re pretty much the same thing, right? No difference. Pair it with a bunch of gold jewelry and some cute neural wedges for that elegant and girly flair.
4. A Sexy Slip Dress
THIS outfit. Have you ever seen a sexier maternity dress? Doubt it. The asymmetrical front layer is SO chic and stylish. Love it paired with some natural-toned raffia (that straw-like material) accessories to add a bit of unexpected texture to this super-soft slip.
5. A Shimmery Flouncy Dress
This dress just looks so freeing, you know? Like, so breathable, breezy and uncomplicated – i.e. my three favorite words when it comes to a summer dress. It also supposedly “shimmers” with some subtly-sparkly metallic threads running throughout. I mean…Yes please. I never mind a little bit of summer-goddess-flair.
6. A Somewhat-Structured Shift Dress
OK, this outfit is just so cool. Love the cut and neckline of the dress styled up with some fun accessories. This shift silhouette is perfect for pregnancy and postpartum, with a little bit of structure and some “quick-access hidden zip-seams” at the bodice. Such a good, wearable yellow color, too.
7. A Cute Ruffled Dress
When I picture an adorable summer maternity dress, this one comes to mind. It’s SO good. The length is perfect, in addition to the off-the-shoulder neckline, not to mention the super pretty ruffles. It’s my favorite dressed down with some plain, white sneakers. You’re so hip, mama.

Hope all you current and soon-to-be mamas enjoy!

I was instantly drawn to the straw bucket bag shown with the navy striped dress… but I can’t find it on the Nordstrom website! Or the TB site. Any help?
Maybe this Lucky Brand hobo instead? https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/lucky-brand-ney-hobo-bag
