Hey hey! Memorial Day Weekend sales are pretty lit, friends. I did a whirlwind visit into my downtown Nordstrom yesterday to check out what looked good. I found Paige, Levi’s, Staud and more on the sale rack! I went out on a limb and tried some dresses on even. I know. Turns out I should try on more Staud dresses in general. I was blown away.
All of these pieces are part of Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale right now and are 30-40% off. I brought home these Levi’s and this cutie $20 t-shirt. I had to be quick but I will admit, I had fun.
Memorial Day Sales Try-On: Levi’s Jeans, Staud Dresses + More On Sale At Nordstrom

Sales like Memorial Day Weekend are a great time to really get some bangers for your wardrobe. I feel like this pretty white Staud dress above could take you on just about any vacay you wanted to go on. More details below on some true gems from Nordstrom this weekend.
1. Levi’s XL Straight Leg Jeans

Ok hiiii new Levi’s. I really loved how these fit on me. I should have tried these sooner because I saw them on Abby and Shana recently and thought they looked killer. The drawstring is just a cute touch and adds an easy belt option that you don’t have to think about. Love the wash, too!

Fit Notes: These Levi’s XL Straight fit true to size. I know they’ll give a little bit with wear because they’re 100% cotton but they didn’t feel stiff and uncomfortable right off the hanger. They’re so cute. The heels I have on here are pretty low, too, so I’ll easily be able to wear these jeans with sneakers and sandals, too. They’re high enough rise but not too high and just a solid jean find that I really needed in my life right now.
2. Rag & Bone Striped Polo

Super cute and well made, this Rag & Bone polo surprised me. It was fine on the hanger but even cuter on. *Note that these Madewell jeans I have on aren’t on sale in ivory as it turns out, but they’re SO great. This wash I have IS on sale! TTS
Fit Notes: Fits true to size for a fitted look. Size up if between or if you want a little more room. Hits right at the waist.
3. MOTHER V-Yoke Cutout Top

Okkk cute. I really like this cutout top from MOTHER denim. It’s such a cool shape and cool details and looks so good buttoned up with jewelry on top, but you could also unbutton a couple buttons, too. It’s breezy and interesting and just the kind of top I’d throw on when I don’t want to think but I want to look fabulous.
Fit Notes: Runs a little big. I’m typically between a S-M depending on the top and this fit great in a S.
4. Staud Altea Dress

I mean, ok. Hi. This isn’t something I would look at online and think “I need to try that” but I was so intrigued in store that I took it in the dressing room anyway. And. So cool. It’s even cooler looking in person and if I knew where to wear this (or had a rad vacay coming up) I would have seriously needed it in my closet.

Am I off in thinking this is a bit Parker Posey a la White Lotus? Idk in all the best ways. Obviously it’s a vibe and I’m here for it.

5. Caslon 100% Cotton Tee

This cutie “Sea La Vie” top came home with me. I’ve been needing (haha well, that’s debatable) new little cute tees lately and this fit the bill…especially because the bill is just a $20 one.
Fit Notes: True to size. A little fitted at the neck.
6. PAIGE Anessa Wide Leg Jeans

I’ve loved the Paige Anessa jeans for a while now after trying them on at Anthro last year. I’m not typically one for a lighter wash but these look cute! And that butt shot isn’t bad, folx.

Fit Notes: These run small. I’m between a 29/30 and these are a 30 and fit snug, like you’d want a date night pair to fit, but I definitely needed that stretch in them.
7. Eileen Fisher Blazer

Oh hi this one’s for all you Eileen Fisher fans. This cardigan blazer is so comfy and gorgeously made and just a fab cotton jacket to keep around for cool evenings or offices. I’d mostly pair it with a white tank or tee, classic jeans and taupe sandals. There’s something about this one that I’m like ‘I need it’–even though I am decidedly not a cardigan gal. It’s the collar. It’s almost like a grandpa cardigan. I love it with the sleeves pushed up.
Fit Notes: True to size for a little bit of slouch without being loose or too big.
8. Cinq A Sept Denim Shirt Dress

I had my TME team in my head today when I was in store and heard them all saying I should ‘look in the dress section’ and I’m glad I did. This Cinq A Sept trench dress is SO freaking cute! And I’m pretty particular about dresses…honestly because most of them don’t fit me well.

Fit Notes: This is fitted on me and I’d say runs a little small, but in true form it’s most fitted where I always run into issues with dresses…in the midsection. I’m pretty much a size 8 everywhere else but across the waist I’m a 10 it seems these days. This was form fitting on me at the waist, but not uncomfortable. I felt so good in it.
9. Theory 100% Silk Tee

If you need a really beautiful, go-to tee, this. I will now be checking out many more tees from Theory because this is gorgeous. What can I say. I love a designer tee so much.

10. Staud Cafu A-Line Dress

I mean, this dress makes me want to book a trip to, well, anywhere stat. (I am going to Vegas this weekend but it’s for a punk rock festival so I really need a different vacay just for this dress.) It’s so lovely and made me feel breezy and fancy but in a very comfortable way.
Fit Notes: True to size with room in the waist and hips and butt to move around and be super comfy.
11. Rag & Bone Maddie Pleated Dress

Ok this little number is out of really lovely cotton. I don’t know if it’s the perfect piece on me, but it felt great on. I think someone with just a bit more height might rock it even better, but it’s a good one.
Fit Notes: True to size, but maybe just a bit better on someone who isn’t short waisted.
12. Caslon Pull-On Linen Blend Pants + Striped Sweater

These pants are breezy and light but probably best for wearing over a swimsuit. I’m ok with white pants not being opaque, but these are pretty see-thru. Perfect for the beach or pool though!

This sweater is so soft. I don’t need more cotton sweaters in my life, but I want this one in my life. It’s lovely and beautiful and the blue is just cheery and summery. This is the kind of pop-over-a-swimsuit sweater you want to have at the coast or the shore.
Fit Notes: True to size with longer-ish sleeves for perfect coziness.
13. Nordstrom Stripe Cotton + Cashmere Sweater

I don’t think the sailor collar is quite my vibe but this sweater was seriously soft and lovely on. If it is your vibe it’s a very good find.

14. Alice + Olivia Millicent Jersey Wrap Dress

This is that ‘out on a limb’ thing I was talking about above. I really wanted to try this dress on, but it wasn’t in my store. Dang it. This dress above isn’t my typical style, but I adore Alice and Olivia and thought I’d give it a whirl. The top fit me a little funky, but alas, it’s a lovely print.
Fit Notes: Probably best for a taller torso (mine is quite short.) Otherwise true to size for designer sizing.
