While I keep my expectations low(ish) for actual Mother’s Day — we’re talking a fancy coffee-&-chocolates-in-bed situation, works like a charm every year — I do love using an upcoming Mother’s Day as an excuse for a little splurge.
While I *could* pick something out and wrap it up for the big day, that’s not my style. I’d rather spend a few weeks perusing lovely things and letting the anticipation build. It’s not necessarily efficient, but it is fun. (That said, if I *am* going to gift myself anything on the big day…it’s nice to have new pajamas on hand — this pair or this pair are calling my name.)
23 Mother’s Day Gift Ideas Perfect For Mom (Or Yourself): Saks Fifth Avenue
So, if you’re in the mood for a few indulgences — pretty things, useful luxuries, giftable objects d’art — here are the things currently topping my personal Mother’s Day wish list.
I partnered with Saks Fifth Avenue on this wish list, which means all of my picks below can be found at Saks. (Trust me: This was no hardship.) Saks is currently running a gift-card event, so if you spend $250, they’ll send you a gift card for $50 (and up, etc.). Here are the full details (use code: GIFTCSF at checkout, ends 4/21):
$50 Promotional Gift Card with your $250 purchase
$100 Promotional Gift Card with your $500 purchase
$200 Promotional Gift Card with your $1000 purchase
$500 Promotional Gift Card with your $2000 purchase
If you haven’t yet checked out Saks’ Mother’s Day Gift section, it’s beautiful. I keep finding new, enticing items: These forever flower arrangements? OMG. (This one is my fave.) Or maybe the cutest-ever set of pickleball paddles, or this genius tag that lets you easily carry a hat. Love it.

1. STAUD Hampton Cropped Sweater
Fun fact: If your colors are “spring” (Julieta, check me on this), then this oddly bright, soft, almost-neon-yellow sweater from STAUD will look amazing on you. It’s become one of my favorite colors, and it looks shockingly good with army green or khaki (as well as the usual suspects — denim, gray, etc.). This is the short, 100% cotton sweater I’d throw on over a bikini with a pair of cutoffs.

2. Jennifer Fisher Hoop Earrings
These are the gold hoop earrings from Jennifer Fisher that are supposed to last forever, and be suuuuper-lightweight despite their size and 18K-gold plating.

3. Tom Ford Eye Color Quad
THIS. This Tom Ford eye-shadow set is everything: It’s so subtle that it’s basically foolproof, but it can layer on for more impact. I literally wear this every day, and it’s probably my top gift pick for Mother’s Day overall.

4. Dior Lip Glow Oil Color Reviver
I can never decide if I want the famous Dior lip oil or Hermes’ lip oil. Maybe I should do a comparison??? In any case, I do know I want this pop of punchy orange/coral. Soooo fun for summer.
5. STAUD Myla Cut-Out Maxi Dress
This is a 100% cotton-poplin dress that will read more like a dramatic gown. I’m 110% here for that and plan to wear it with flip-flops.
6/7. Ray-Ban Sunglasses
Sunglasses are one of the easiest ways to update a look, and this narrow shape feels really fresh. I also like that these Ray-Ban sunglasses are nuetral-ish, but not the typical black or brown. I can’t decide on which pair (will likely have to order both to see them on), but I’d treat either one as a neutral.
8. Olaplex No.8 Hair Mask
Shannon (my hair stylist) keeps reminding me to do a weekly mask. This Olaplex hair mask is her top pick.
9. Anine Bing Jeremy Baseball Cap
I’m very much into baseball hats right now, and Anine Bing has the best colors. I like this one. Again, a neutral…but a slightly different one.
10. KeySmart Pro Key Organizer
Oooo…this keeps a bunch of keys organized, which…if I can’t get my whole house organized, maybe I start with the keys?
11. Vietri Assorted Coupe Champagne Glass Set
A friend busted out some vintage-inspired coup glasses the other night, and it felt SO FREAKING FANCY that we were all charmed. This coupe set is a stunner — and a good price ($60 for all four).
12. Farm Rio Morada Boa Off-The-Shoulder Guipire Blouse
I love a while, lacy blouse, and I especially love the insouciant, let-me-hang-off-your-shoulder vibe here. SO GOOD.
13. alexanderwang.t Shorty High-Rise Denim Shorts
There’s something about the trouser styling and shorty-short combo of these alexanderwang.t jean shorts that I’m REALLY into.
14. Roberto Coin Paperclip Chain Necklace
This Roberto Coin chain necklace is pricey but solid gold, which means that it won’t fade or chip over time. A truly wear-all-day-and-shower-in-it kind of forever piece of jewelry. I have a similar one and LOVE it.

15. Diptyque Baies Candle
I’m boring, maybe, but this Diptyque candle is still my favorite, and I’m always thrilled to get one as a gift. THRILLED!
16. Tkees Sloan Leather Strappy Sandals
Saks has several different TKees styles available with this promotion, and I honestly can’t decide. Although, these green (another “new” neutral) sandals would be very unexpected and cool — while still going with everything in my current wardrobe.
17. Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash
Fancy Aesop hand soap is the kind of thing that makes me happy multiple times a day. Another one of my very top gift picks — for literally everyone.
18. Marc Jacobs The Large Tote Bag
Marc Jacobs’ The Tote Bag is getting rave reviews, and I love that it almost feels like a lightened-up briefcase. Yet…the vibe is somewhere between office bag & beach bag. It sounds like it’s genius for travel too.
19. STAUD Psychedelic Crocheted Dress
I have been C-O-V-E-T-I-N-G this crocheted STAUD dress since last summer, but I’m glad I waited because the updated colors make me sooooo happy. I’d wear this dress on every summer vacation but especially to Greece.
20/21. Tom Ford Sunglasses
These Tom Fords are the OTHER sunglasses I’m seriously considering. The shape is more similar to what I’ve been wearing (a little more angular, perhaps), but the colors are totally fresh, AND they’re both mirrored, which I much prefer.
22. SK-II Ten-Pack Facial Treatment Mask
This SK-II face-mask set looks so boring, but the reviews are off the charts. I’ve gotta try these. (The set comes with 10 masks, so it would also be fun for a girls night too.)

23. Assouline “Capri Dolce Vita” Coffee-Table Book
While we were prepping our trip to Turkey, I bought this Assouline coffee-table book, and it really made the anticipation build. And now that we’ve returned, it’s fun to peruse — the photos are really transportive and spot-on. These books are a fun (and giant) treat for anyone with wanderlust. I get so much joy sitting down next to the coffee table, coffee in hand (or maybe champagne in coupe glasses, haha), flipping through these pages. Highly recommend.
Enjoy your day, Mamas.
