You Sus and You Look Sus have absolutely become my favorite expressions of #2020, in Quarantine, while making the best of stay-at-home. Thank you Among Us, for giving this mom a great giggle, for the entertainment, and for some fun words to use, too!
Two of my three kids are gamers. The third, generally has not been interested in online video games, until….Among Us. And now we’re three for three.
Knowing full-well that it’ll be a cold day…when they’ll get me to play a game online, my kids got creative. One night, they explained this game they all love to me, and then asked me to play a real life version of it (that they had made-up,) with them at home. They likened it to Clue, one of our family favorites. They made lists of tasks and roles and assigned an imposter. We all had to reach into a bag to pull out a folded piece of paper. The whole thing was a riot, and we’ve played a dozen times since. While walking around the house, doing my Among Us Tasks, I’m known to also throw in a load of dishes or laundry, and then suspiciously look at them, and cite, “Tasks.” I typically get an eye roll, and a “Mom, are you playing with us or not?” They are left to wonder if doing a load of laundry is actually on my task list…I just let them wonder. #2020 Life in Quarantine, Stay-At-Home, make new fun, at it’s gaming best + a little laundry action.
You Look Sus: An Among Us Gift Guide
I now say, “You Sus” 100 times a day…to the kids, to my friends, to colleagues, to everyone. They’re all sus as far as I’m concerned. For those new to Among Us, and You sus — it’s short for “You are suspect (you might be The Imposter.)”
I’m not sure why I didn’t think of this sooner, but in my last-minute search for a few small holiday gifts, I found Sus socks they’ll love, and a few other fun Among Us merch that would also make for great gifts, many of which we can get on the quick before the holidays-are-over-delivery schedule, and all of which I’m certain we’ll continue to have fun staying-at-home with in the new year! I’m Sus. You Sus. We’re all Sus. xoxo, A
Comes in a ton of fun color combos and kid sizes through 2XL…which I’m currently suspicious might also fit me:) If so, this is what you’ll find me wearing through winter 2021.
Comes in white and grey, in kids’ and adult sizes! Fun for the whole family! While we can almost all share one common size in this house these days, I got one for each of us, and a few for friends too — I’m into sharing, just not my own hoodies.
Comes in many colors; I love the black and sport grey best. Available in men’s sizes L-3XL…so great for big kids, adult big kids (that’d be all of us), and especially those of us who like to hang and sleep in an oversized tee.
Speaking of keeping warm all winter…does anyone else find themselves wearing a beanie, at home, all day long? Fun stocking stuffers for the whole fam — they’re all sus.
We ski in these and run in the winter in them, and now they can double as face masks too! #necessary2021 for the whole family!
I love all the colors in this fun neck gaiter that’ll keep us warm all winter!
This was where my search began…for fun socks to stuff in the stockings. Wow, did that search take me to some fun places with no end! Available in all kinds of combos and sizes for family fun!
One more fun little way to stuff a stocking or to prop a fun family party night in the new year! What you fill your cup with??? Well it helps that they are color coded…Mom’s is purple, don’t touch it…you sus ‘lil people.
We need another plush stuffie around here like not at all, but I still can’t help but to love these guys! I feel a new theme coming on in Grace’s room…
These come in four colorways, and while they might not make it in time for Hanukkah and Christmas, they might make for a fun New Years’ Family Game Night!
In a tradition carried over from my own mother, each year, I gift the kids one ornament each, that most represents the current times, so that they go off to their own homes and lives with a full set one day — or not. They are welcome to live with me forever too. If 2020 isn’t sus, I’m just not even sure what is.
You Sus. I’m Sus. 2020 Is Sus, for sure. We may as well just all have some fun at home with it!
