Do you know that feeling when something you love, have and wear whether it’s on-trend or not, is in fashion again? You’re like ha! I’ve been wearing this for years and you’re just catching up?
I hope this has happened to you at least once. This year it did for me with Western-inspired boots.
My dad has been in the emerald business my whole life — Colombian emeralds are some of the most sought after. And in Colombia, the so-called “Esmeralderos” (emerald dealers) had a time when they only wore cowboy boots. That’s all I grew up seeing my dad wearing, in the most amazing leathers. Maybe, that’s why I see them and feel an affinity for them.
My whole life, regardless of the season, I’ve always had a western-inspired boot in my closet.
For the past years, it’s been a pair of tan western ankle boots that I’ve worn year-after-year for maybe four years? I think. They were an inexpensive pair from Asos, because the pair I really wanted was around $500. Inexpensive and all, they served me well, but since last year, I started a search for a similar pair in better quality that I could keep wearing over and over.
It took me a year, lots of orders and returns, but I found THE ONES. Meaning I got them out of the box, put them on, saw they were perfect and wore them three days in a row.
My New Fav Ankle Booties: Everlane Western Boots
You probably saw them in my past “4 outfits for fall” post where I said I’d have to do a post just for these boots. So….Here it is. They’re that big of a deal. I needed this exact color, it’s just so versatile. I found darker, lighter, with details in the leather, but they never were “the boots”. Some were close in look but not in comfort. I’m sorry I don’t have pics to show you, but as I said my search was a year long and I’d lost hope.
TME Why:Â Italian leather, super easy to put on, and a minimalistic look that goes with more lifestyles and outfits. Everlane was inspired by a beautiful pair of vintage boots, but they made sure to make this boot more modern and wearable. They nailed it! Even after the trend is gone, these will not. They’re classics!
The shaft height is the most versatile in my opinion. I can wear them easily with any of my straight leg, cropped bootcut, skinny, wide leg jeans but also with shorts, dresses, skirts.
9 Ways To Wear Western-Inspired Ankle Boots
I don’t have a lot of pics with this exact pair; however, I do have pics with my old boots for some outfit inspo (same color and style). This color blends with a lot of outfits IMO.
Ready? Most pics courtesy of my Instagram (@julietatorresd) and if you’re an IG friend, you may recognize.
Outfit 1: Monochrome Jeans + Sweater
Black jeans, black sweater, some jewelry and these boots. DONE. More than the black I’d do a monochromatic look, grey jeans, grey sweater, or winter white jeans and sweater; navy would look even more  amazing in my opinion. I love a printed silk scarf to add an interest factor to the solid colors.

Outfit 2: Midi Skirt + Black V-neck Sweater + Leather Jacket (+ Pregnant Belly?)
I was VERY pregnant here and nothing fit anymore. But this ribbed black skirt with a sweater simulating a dress, and these boots. I felt like a stylish preggo mama.
They’re amazing for adding some life to an all black outfit. Even while pregnant!

Outfit 3: Travel Outfit = Leather Joggers + Striped Sweater & Top Coat
This was my travel outfit when I came to the TME HQ in Philly earlier this year. So comfy and chic.

One of my go-to outfits for my everyday mom life in the cold months.

Great way to wear for those of you who live in warmer cities but want some fall outfits.

One of my oldest blog outfits. But easy and favorite.

Outfit 7: Black Joggers + Long Sleeve Tee + Leather Jacket
Even though I like to wear sweatpants when traveling, I don’t like them with sneakers that much. The boots give them a more put-together vibe while still being comfy.

Chic, comfy, playground-ready but makes you look like a cool mom.

This full outfit is my latest obsession. My most-worn pieces for the past two weeks have been these boots and this sweater.

I should have one more pic to complete 10 somewhere, but I’m ready to go to bed. My 2-year-old has been waking up in the middle of the night, so any sleep I can get is very much appreciated.
Can you do the 10th? What would your outfit be?
