Need A Winter Mood Boost? Try One Of These Fun Tops

Ah, wintertime, the season that always, and I mean always, finds me looking at my wardrobe for a dopamine hit. Beige and grey sweaters simply depress me, and I find myself needing more excitement with my outfits than I do any other time of year.

When this incredible sweatshirt came across my social media as an ad (those damn ads!) I began clicking around on the adidas website and loved how so many of the graphic tees and sweatshirts felt vintage: colorful, vibey, happy. Each one was like a dream find hunting through a curated vintage shop, except, actually, a lot easier to get your hands on.

I knew what I had to do – fill my cart and do a try-on.

Ironically, the very sweatshirt that started this whole try-on got delayed in the warehouse, and I didn’t want to wait for it in fear of everything selling out (two items already did, boo!). The good stuff always does.

I tried on mostly sweatshirts but there is a very unique track jacket in the mix, too. All of them do as promised: perk those winter blues right up. The question now is, which do I actually keep?!

Starting out with arguably the most vintage feeling sweatshirt of the lot, I thought this one would be silly in real life but it is shockingly cool. The collar sits high on your neck like a vintage jersey (a little tight to pull on over my large head but very stretchy and doable), and the stripes around the body and arms are perfection.

Plus, the colors of this one are EXACTLY what I need right now.

This sweatshirt has the best mix of fun colors and simple graphics. It’s easy to wear despite still feeling very vintage and fun. I love how extra the flying-squirrel-arms look, and like a lot of these, it has a tighter bottom elastic which makes way for that effortless drape.

I swapped my normal large for a medium and very happy I did, this still fits oversized and like a big cozy hug.

I almost didn’t order this sweatshirt because I genuinely wasn’t sure how I felt about it with the product shots. But it might actually be my favorite of the round up. The sweatshirt is vintage feeling without being loud – but it also has enough interest to feel a lot more exciting than other items in my closet.

The way it feels is the best part. Lightweight but so soft and stretchy. The bottom has the stretchiest collar which allows it to sit on the body angled as if I had side tucked it. This one just wears phenomenally well with a pair of jeans.

I swapped my normal large for a medium and it fit just how I wanted it to.

A track jacket…dress?! I was TOO curious to not order this. It’s soft and easy to wear in the body, and the skirt flare is honestly…really fun. It’s not hard to walk in and feels very girly (in a cool way).

I think this could be amazing over leggings right now, and then worn with bike shorts in the spring. Just the kinda fun + funky top to put a pep in my winter step.

I’m a sucker for the 3 Stripes collection. This is a super oversized (I swapped my normal large for a size small), but lightweight + easy to wear sweatshirt. It has a french terry interior and while it’s fun + youthful with baggy jeans, I’d love it with a pair of leggings.

Sadly, this one has sold fast in red in most sizes but it also comes in black if you’re not as desperate for a colorful pick-me-up as I am, lol.
