How I’m Styling Brown Coated Jeans This Fall

0

I LOVE the look of coated jeans for fall. They have that sleek, almost leather-like finish that makes even the simplest outfit feel a little more interesting, and this color is pretty much perfect right now.

And after falling in love with Noli’s white pearl jeans a few months ago, I had high hopes for this pair. The fit is just as good: flattering through the butt, no annoying waist gap and, thanks to petite sizing, a length that actually works on me at 5’4″. (I did have to size up this time, though. The 6 Petite was definitely too snug, and I’m much happier in the 8 Petite.)

Add the matching belt and…yeah. These are GOOD.

The fit reminds me a lot of the white Noli jeans I loved this summer (those are half off!). They hug my hips and butt without leaving that annoying gap at the waist, and the petite length is pretty much perfect with heels.

And THIS is why I love Noli’s fit so much. They hug my butt without pulling across the hips or leaving a gap at the waist (typical with curves). The placement of the back pockets is really flattering, too.

Brown Coated Jeans + Everything Else in My Closet

As much as I love the navy cardigan above with these (it looks darker in the photos), I wanted to see how easily they’d work with the rest of my fall wardrobe. Turns out…pretty easily.

Outfit 1: Contrast With A Black Bodysuit & Black Accessories

Brown coated jeans with a fitted black bodysuit, black belt and a rented Chanel bag

pants (8P) | bodysuit (s) | belt | bag | boots

This is one of my favorite bodysuits because it makes tucking SO easy without adding any bulk under the pants, and it’s fitted without being skin-tight. Leave a few more buttons undone for a sexier vibe or button it all the way up depending on where you’re going. I also love the contrast of the black belt with the mocha.

And yes, we need to talk about the Chanel bag. I’ve always wanted one, but they’re waaaaay out of my price range. 😂 This one is from Vivrelle, where you can rent bags from Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and a bunch of other $$$ designers I could never justify buying. You can get your first month free with code SCOTTIOSTWALD, but full disclosure: you do have to enter a credit card and commit to three months when you sign up. So you’re essentially getting three months for the price of two, but you are committing upfront.

Outfit 2: Soften It With An Oversized Gray Sweater

I LOVE gray and brown together, and this is exactly how I like to dress up an otherwise casual outfit. The oversized turtleneck keeps things comfy, but add a fuzzy bag and sparkly sandals and suddenly a sweater + jeans feels like an actual outfit. 😂

Outfit 3: Go Monochromatic With a Mocha Cami

I love the almost-monochromatic look of this cami with the coated jeans. It’s also from The Noli Shop, and the mocha color is perfect for fall layering. I also have it in pearl and black because the fit is SO good. It tucks easily, has adjustable straps, and I love the deeper neckline. It comes in a TON of colors, too (many are on sale right now). I sized down since it’s slightly oversized.

Outfit 4: Add a Pop of Burgundy

I kind of love this camel-brown color with ALL the fall colors. This shirt also comes in the most gorgeous dark green (plus classic black and cream), but the burgundy is my favorite. It runs big, so I sized down to an XS and love the drapiness. It also has a hint of stretch, which makes it way more comfortable to move around in than most of my button-ups.

And I was SO happy to bust out these burgundy heels and bag again. I bought both last fall, and adding a matching bag + shoes is still one of my favorite ways to finish an outfit (and I love it when sites make it easy like this!).

Outfit 5: Layer On an Olive Poncho

I’m not totally convinced the green boots are working here 😂, but I DO love the olive green with the camel-brown jeans. My poncho is from Gap Factory last year, but I linked a similar one that’s technically a nursing shawl. I mean…it’s a poncho. I’m pretty sure we’re allowed to wear it anyway (especially for under $40!).

I wasn’t sure how much I’d actually wear brown coated jeans, but apparently the answer is…a LOT. 😂 I love the camel-brown color with basically every fall color in my closet, and the coated finish makes even my usual sweater + jeans outfits feel a little more fun.

(They come in a TON of colors if brown isn’t your thing, too.)

XOXO,

Scotti
