The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview is finally live, and I’ve spent basically all day clicking through alllll 85 pages. (OK, not really…but close.) My NSale takeaway thus far? This is a sale that, for me, is going to be really piece-driven, rather than the cohesive fall capsule wardrobe its been in the past.
This year’s NSale feels really light on sweaters and tops — there’s very little cashmere (I do love this one, tho) — but the jeans and pants look pretty incredible. The coat selection is great (it’s always freaking great), and while I haven’t yet made up my mind about this year’s selection of boots…the sneakers are a big win. So many good pairs!!
Per usual, I’ve thrown together a few looks made up of my favorite pieces. If interested in seeing my personal shopping list (it’s in work and will likely change as I learn more), we’ve pulled together a section of all our TME editors’ shopping lists on The Mom Edit’s Ultimate Guide To The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They’re in the “Shop The NSale By Editor” section.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2023: 5 Cute Fall Looks I Want To Wear ASAP
Each one of these looks below has at least one piece that made me gasp out loud…and then I started playing around, styling it up. These are all outfits I’d happily wear in my real, everyday life — but with a fresh twist.
My favorite NSale pieces so far are Zella’s wide-leg parachute pants, some ballet flats with Chanel vibes, reallllly interesting jeans from Veronica Beard (of course, she’s the best at interesting denim), and a Nordstrom Signature wool-&-cashmere coat that looks seriously luxe and slouchy.
Here we go!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Outfit Idea 1: Neutrals — But Make It Metallic
While I love my joggers, I’m getting sick of the silhouette, so Zella’s wide-leg parachute pants feel like a breath of fresh air. Per usual, I’d wear them with cute sneaks, and yassss: New Balance has entered the NSale chat. I’m falling back in love with silver again — such a fun change — and don’t sleep on that seriously cool tee (also Zella), either. Gahhh, I want this entire outfit.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Outfit Idea 2: Timeless Cool Girl
I love loose, slouchy MOTHER jeans with a pair of ballet flats, especially if said ballet flats are giving Chanel vibes. Bonus points if they’re from a comfort-shoe brand. 😉 Also, I’m eyeing up what I hope is a cocoon coat from BCBGeneration. It’s the most versatile coat shape on the planet, simply because the roomy shape fits over bulky sweaters but still looks chic. (One other contender was Vince’s slouchy coat-jacket.) Lastly, I love wearing a cardigan as a shirt, with a bit of lacy bra peeking out.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Outfit Idea 3: Trendy (& Shockingly Warm)
Denim skirts are having quite a moment, and happily, there are a few seriously good options in the Nsale. I’m intrigued by the rag & bone denim skirt below, but also check out Joe’s longer denim midi. I’d pair either skirt with a white vest & tall leather boots, and finish off the look with an almost-cropped Levi’s puffer in faux leather. These faux-leather puffers are shockingly warm and feel much more current than leather moto jackets.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Outfit Idea 4: Dangerously Luxe Yet Quirky
I have reallllllly high hopes for this long coat from Nordstrom Signature, Gang. You’ve gotta click through to see — it looks almost dangerously luxe and slouchy on the model. I’d throw it on over everything, but why not — since we’re here — try it with some it-girl Veronica Beard flare jeans and quirky accessories?
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Outfit Idea 5: The GPOAT (Greatest Pants Of All Time)
Um. In a surprise move, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale includes Frank & Eileen’s wide-leg sweatpants — the epic, indestructible ones I wear on all of my plane trips — in an exclusive color, no less!! These are literally THE BEST. There’s also a matching hoodie (which I haven’t tried and am deeply skeptical about), OR — if you like color — Frank & Eileen’s capelet & matching “sweat skirt” is a realllllly great buy. Anyway, this is how I’m wearing my sweatpants most of the time: little tank, cute sneaks, done.
