Well, guys it’s here! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for 2025 has officially opened to Icon cardmember status. Shana’s about five feet away, trying on allll the things in the sale. She just passed over a couple selfies for me to share with you guys in real-time. Which, this article will be updated with a couple more sneak peeks, so check back in a little.
The full dressing-room-selfies try-on is coming ASAP (we’re hustling to get it up tonight). Think of this as a little teaser. So for now…I present: Shana’s mini try-on. Woohoo!
PS: Bookmark our Nordstrom Anniversary Ultimate Shopping Guide that has everything you could possibly think of (top picks, articles, Q&A’s, info) and the Cheat Sheet for our very favorite picks in each category. They’ll be updated daily as the sale continues, so keep checking back.
2025 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Shana’s First Try-On & Early Top Picks
While a lot of the jeans weren’t working (we know S loves herself a slouchy fit), Shana did find two pairs, and they’re no shocker to us. The first winner: Veronica Beard Wide Legs. Second winner: MOTHER Dodger Skimp Wide Legs. We really wanted to make the Avec Les Filles work (that floral!) but something was just off. Maybe try sizing up for a slouchier fit if that floral is calling you as much as it’s calling us. We were suuuper excited about the bag selection this year…but only ended up really loving this vintage-y one by Veronica Beard.
Outfit 1: Veronica Beard Jeans + Reiss Jacket
jacket (4) | top (s) | jeans (28) | boots | bag
Leave it to Veronica to have the first winners of the try-on. These jeans were the first pair S put on and actually liked. Yes, they’re a little long, but admittedly, we love the way they pool over those booties. The raw hem makes it easier to hack off if needed, too (Shana’s go-to long-denim solution). Then, this polo went on next and we all collectively loved. As for that Reiss jacket? We had high hopes for it, and it lived up to the expectations. Incredibly chic — it’s basically a fresh take on leather jackets. S tried both the size 2 and 4 (they both worked), but the 4 works better for layering over thicker sweaters.
Outfit 2: Barbour Jacket + rag & bone Sweater
jacket (6) | sweater (s) | jeans (28) | boots
When cute and functional team up? Ohhh, we’re in. This Barbour jacket totally nailed it. Bonus points for the detachable hood. And those stripes peeking out? That’s rag & bone’s sweater tank — a genius pick for anyone who runs a little warm (or those of us who love a sweater no matter the season). Forever loving on those classic stripes that lean more Parisian than nautical, too. Same Veronica Beard boots and jeans, but S gave ‘em a little cuff (can’t decide which way we love more…)
Outfit 3: Pistola Sweater + MOTHER Jeans
sweater (s) | jeans (28) | boots
If you’re thinking “I did not see those jeans in the sale” they’re actually MOTHER Dodger Skimp Wide Legs, but Shana uncuffed them (the cuff just felt too long on her). As for the Pistola sweater – both Shana and Linzi loved it, and we think it’ll be one of the first things gone from the sale. It’s 100% cotton, and such an interesting take on a classic striped sweater.
The Coats + Jackets: Sanctuary & Rains
Next up: outer layers worth braving cooler temps for. Sanctuary brings a utility-leaning barn jacket (think pockets for days), while Rains delivers that sleek, water-resistant bomber vibe. Different moods, same throw-on-and-go appeal.
1. Sanctuary Barn Jacket
jacket (s) | sweater (s) | jeans (28) | boots
The Sanctuary barn jacket hits all the utility vibes without feeling too farm-core. The 100% cotton olive canvas has a soft, worn-in wash, and the contrast corduroy collar gives a subtle vintage nod. Nice big pockets, but the profile still hangs clean.
2. Rains Banja Water Resistant Bomber Jacket
jacket (s) | jeans (28) | boots
Rains took a classic bomber and made it water resistant, then added lightweight quilting that feels more Scandi cool than puffy-parka. Slightly cropped, wide through the sleeves, and snaps shut for a polished finish.
Two Cool Tops: AllSaints + rag & bone
Switching to everyday-statement tops: AllSaints serves a raw-hem denim shirt that’s part jacket, part button-down, while rag & bone answers with a crisp, high-low striped poplin. Each one is the kind of piece you toss on and instantly look like you tried.
1. AllSaints Faye Raw Hem Denim Shirt
denim top (xs) | sweater (s) | jeans (28) | boots
Boxy, cropped, and cut from a weightier denim that feels almost jacket-ish, the Faye shirt is how you do a denim top right in 2025. The raw edge keeps it casual, while the wide sleeves make it easy to layer over that same striped rag & bone tank for a little pattern peek.
2. rag & bone Maura Stripe High-Low Cotton Poplin Shirt
The Maura top from rag & bone is a crisp poplin with directional stripes that feel tailored, but the swingy high-low hem says “weekend.” The wide sleeves and stand collar give it an almost…architectural vibe. No half-tuck needed, it drapes perfectly on its own. Called it an effortless upgrade to jeans-and-a-top.
An Under $100 Sweater: Wayf Striped Polo
sweater (s) | jeans (28) | boots
This sweater surprised us! Under $100 and already giving varsity-cool energy. The knit has a nice drape to it, the sky-and-sand stripes feel unexpected for fall, and that crisp white collar means you can skip layering a shirt underneath. S paired it with MOTHER’s Dodger jeans (uncuffed) for a slouchy balance and kept the Kelby booties. Proof that a budget-friendly sweater can headline the whole look.
A Pretty Dress: Frame The Sleeveless Denim Mini Shirtdress
A little retro, a lot effortless. FRAME took a snap-front shirtdress, nipped it just enough at the shoulders, and gave it deep indigo that feels polished. In true TME fashion, S paired it with adidas’ SL 72 sneakers in a cool cocoa-brown – sporty, unexpected, and proof that denim minis don’t always need sandals to feel summery.

The oversized patch pockets hint at utility, but the A-line cut keeps it breezy. Silver snaps run the length of the placket, adding a bit of shine (and an easy way to tweak how much leg – or collarbone – you show).
Final Thoughts (for Now): This is just the beginning of our Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 coverage, and Shana’s full dressing room try-on is coming tonight.
