Yep, this is truly my favorite part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Brand-new fall styles (a mix of classic and trending fashion) from so many great designers, all on sale together.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Outfit Ideas: Everyday Fall Looks Ft. EILEEN FISHER & Designer Faves
Year after year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale offers a truly solid selection of classic wardrobe staples from Eileen Fisher at significantly discounted prices. Most of us are fans because of its high-quality, sustainability-in-mind clothing that drapes, moves, breathes, holds up, and just feels good on your body.
I don’t, however, tend to wear Eileen Fisher from head to toe — it’s too much of a “look” for my personal style. I do, however, love having some classic pieces in my closet, and then mixing them with other designers. In general, incorporating a few new trends keep my classic pieces feeling fresh.
So…if you’re looking for new Eileen Fisher pieces on sale…or ways to make the classic EF pieces that are already in your closet more current, I’ve got 10 easy, everyday (but fresh) fall looks using ONLY pieces from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
NSale Outfit Idea 1: Casual Everyday ‘Fit
This exact outfit, or something EXTREMELY similar, is likely what you’ll see me in on the daily this fall.
NOTES: I love a super-soft sweater-hoodie under a lightweight, non-restricting jacket — in this case, an easygoing TENCEL Eileen Fisher blazer — with good MOTHER jeans and simple (but stylish) Reiss sneaks. The Veronica Beard baseball tee (it’s mixed media) is also absolutely calling my name.
NSale Outfit Idea 2: My Go-To Airplane Style
Gah! I’m so FREAKING excited to see Frank & Eileen in the sale this year — it’s the OTHER lovely “Eileen” in my life/closet. This hoodie and pants combo looks like it’s a color exclusive to JUST Nordstrom. SO good! Can’t wait to see it in person.
NOTES: The clean lines and simple styles of Frank & Eileen definitely play nicely with that classic Eileen Fisher tee. And can we take a moment to admire the glossy Birkenstock Arizona sandals in the most gorgeous ecru color with gold hardware! I own the black glossy Birkenstock Madrids with the gold buckle, and the shine-and-metal combo makes them feel very special. Been wearing shiny Birks WAY more than I thought I would.
NSale Outfit Idea 3: Put-Together (Yet Easy)
I work mostly from home and don’t do workwear attire on the regular, but I do like having a few planned “outfits” ready to go for those times I do need to look more professional. Black pants are always involved.
NOTES: These Veronica Beard trousers with the tie waist look amazing, but you could always sub your favorite stretchy Eileen Fisher pants if you already have them in your closet. And this cream tie jacket and/or Vince’s cream cardigan-coat are definitely coming home with me — such an easy way to make Eileen Fisher’s blues, greens and reds pop. I typically buy Eileen Fisher clothing in neutrals for versatility, but it’s nice especially for a more polished look to have an option OTHER than my all-black and tan formulas.
NSale Outfit Idea 4: Amazingly Practical
Shana and I were giggling at this one…and then discussing seriously that, yes, this does feel KIND of amazing as a practical going-out outfit. Yep, you read that right. I got Shana to legitimately approve this Eileen Fisher cardigan outfit (despite her constant rolling of eyes about my obsession with comfy cardis).
NOTES: There is something that just feels right about this outfit. It’s a good balance of li’l bit sexy (with the gorgeous silk cami and stretchy, leg-lengthening black jeans from FRAME, plus those Bernardo statement heels), but with a nonchalant I’m-so-cool-I-can-wear-cardigans-to-go-out confident vibe kind of way. Ha! Am I dreaming? Maybe, but don’t be surprised to see me rocking this exact outfit this fall on the rare nights I leave the house after 8:30 p.m.
NSale Outfit Idea 5: Sporty & Slouchy
I don’t know how this is happening, but I’m getting sportier in my style. I’m typically NOT the sporty-look kind of gal, but the fact that casual wide-leg pants (i.e., these Zella cargo pants) are back in the mix is bringing me over to the sporty side.
NOTES: I’m definitely going to be trying the Zella cargos, but I also like the look of any of Eileen Fisher’s wide-leg, UBER-comfy and “versatile-do-all-the-things” pants (take your pick from ALL of Eileen Fisher’s stretchy black pants here), freshened up a bit with a sporty casual vibe. The shorter AllSaints top with drawstings, a hooded puffer vest and a pop of color look like so much fun for fall.
NSale Outfit Idea 6: A Pop Of Playful
Many of you know that I have a hard time ignoring an interesting cardigan. I like the tried-and-true basics (like this Vince coatigan, of course), but a fun and playful cardigan added to a classic tee from Eileen Fisher and timeless Frame flares is a fun way to freshen up the basics.
NOTES: A note on the Veronica Beard clogs…I have them in brown. They are not the MOST comfortable clogs in my closet, but they’re definitely comfortable enough if you’re not walking completely across the city. And they’re BY FAR the most beautiful clogs in my closet. SO SO pretty!
NSale Outfit Idea 7: Modern Wardrobe Staples
This denim skirt from rag & bone is WOW. Modern and interesting and SO fun to pair with your best closet staples.
NOTES: Grab whatever classic tall boots you have in your wardrobe and this simple ribbed top from Eileen Fisher, add in a cozy, light-color top layer, and you’re set. You’ll get extra points for freshening up the outfit if you try a pair of on-trend sunglasses — but do I dare branch out from my forever-fave sunnies shape?
NSale Outfit Idea 8: Essential Fall Look
I kept last year’s version of this Eileen Fisher coat in beige, and it was a TOTAL winner all fall! Love that it isn’t too structured, moves with my body, and doesn’t feel constricting.
NOTES: I’m super-excited to see that Eileen Fisher brought back something similar, but in a charcoal/gray colorway (also this new cotton version looks good too). Worn with my my fave MOTHER jeans, over workwear, or even with cute workout leggings… I’m a total sucker for the versatility with the reversible design.
NSale Outfit Idea 9: The Versatile LBD
Ahhhh…..the Eileen Fisher little black dress. I have a couple of these in my closet. So soft, so comfy, and they look just as good as they did years ago when I first purchased them.
NOTES: The length of this dress is just above the knees, and it’s perfect to wear right now with flip-flops or sandals, and later with sneaks, tall boots, or the fun new wedges from Veronica Beard. This luxe little Theory jacket looks like it’ll be GORGEOUS, but it definitely has a fancier vibe with the buttons… Eileen Fisher also has a less expensive, more casual, honey-colored merino-wool cardigan that would give a similar vibe.
NSale Outfit Idea 10: The Best Fall Color
This long Nordstrom coat is THE color for fall! And it’s a BEAUTY!!! And super-easy to pair with all the washes of jeans as well as Eileen Fisher’s black or beige classics.
NOTES: I like pulling in black and white elements with that beautiful wine color (this Vince cardigan is also stunning), so these adidas sneakers are definitely working for me.
