Happy Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview Day! It’s hard to believe the big sale is here already, but we’re ready. As of noon today, Nordstrom has graced us with a whopping 85 pages of Anniversary Sale fall-fashion goodness, and at first blush, we like what we see.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2023: What Our Editors Are Buying First
Whether you’re an Anni Sale pro or you’re new here (welcome!), our first look at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale happens during the Preview period where we can look, but not buy. This is where our editors ruminate on their fall wish lists and make note of the pieces they’ll be buying first. Every year there’s always a few exciting standouts (this plaid coat, tho) as well as some boring basics/staples we stock up on every year during this sale (fave underwear, anyone?).
If you’re curious to see which pieces our editors are the most excited about, we did a little end-of-day survey to see what caught their eyes. From Julieta’s favorite jeans in a perfectly faded-black wash to “THE” LED mask that Scotti has been using for years (hmmmm, she had a before-and-after pic around here somewhere…), they’ve found some good stuff.
And since this team tends to shop this sale for the whole family, we also asked our editors to give us a peek at what they’re planning to get their partners & kids as well, plus any must-have home finds (this Barefoot Dreams throw, for example, was cited by more than a few of our editors).
And let’s not forget about the jeans. Because we always manage to find a few winning pairs of denim in the Anni sale, year after year.

Women’s: Top NSale Picks
Featured: Plaid Coat | Blazer | Trench Coat
- While I usually go for the the big-ticket items, this year I’m kinda blown away by…Zella. Specifically? These freaking cargo/parachute pants. – Shana
- During the Nordstrom sale, I try to find pieces I would NEVER buy full price (because $$$)…and this gorgeous coat from Reiss is a perfect example. LOVE. – Scotti
- Not only is this blazer named after me, but gah….the lines are SO gorgeous, and Reiss makes some of the best coats and jackets around. A black blazer is a closet staple. – Laura
- I had my fingers crossed for epic Western boots this season, and Nordstrom delivered! I have about eight pairs on my wish list, but these ones are my absolute favorite. They feel like the kind of “Western” boots that Samantha from “Sex in the City” would have worn. – Kat
- You have got to be KIDDING! I was literally JUST saying how much I wanted to try this piece….and in the most GORGEOUS (what looks to be exclusive) new color! – Linzi
- This cozy Vince coat is an updated version of one of my all-time most-favorite NSale purchases — and I can’t stop thinking about that new charcoal color. – Amy
- Joe’s Mia jeans were the best denim purchase I made last year, and I’m absolutely captivated by the newest washed-black color. They’re perfect for year-round wear. – Julieta
- These luxe PJs remain the best gift Chris has ever given me (aside, I suppose, from our girls). They’re one of my biggest motivators for doing laundry. I prefer sleeping in them to all else. Almost never on sale and exactly the kind of NSale splurge that gets me excited. – Em
- As soon as I saw the Relaxed Fit Plaid Coat from Avec Les Filles, I knew without a doubt that this will be one of the very first items I’ll be buying this year. The NSale is always where I buy my fall statement coats for the upcoming season. Avec Les Filles coats have never let me down, and the color combo of this plaid coat is just perfection for autumn. – Jess
- I passed up getting an AllSaints leather jacket last year, and the fashion gods have looked kindly upon me, because this year AllSaints has a version of the Balfern jacket with silver studs. So rock ‘n’ roll and top of my wish list. – Anne
- It took me a while to decide which washable-silk pajama set was the best, and I finally decided Lunya’s racerback and shorts are perfect for summer. If you’re pregnant or postpartum, and want to feel a little cuter and cozier when you’re at home, these are for you. - Yes! This isn’t sexy, but the anti-dandruff shampoo my husband and boys swear by is in the Nsale! It’s from Black-owned Briogeo, and this set comes with its scalp massager too (the only way I can get Pax to wash his hair, haha). – Shana
- Ooh, The Mask is part of the Nordstrom sale! I swear by this mask, you guys…and it comes in a set that’s worth over $640! – Scotti
- These are the two products I wear every day in the summer, in one little handy set! I hate foundation, but the Glow Screen feels and looks amazing on, and the Glow Stick I keep in my purse because it’s so quick to apply and doesn’t feel the slightest bit greasy. Top pick for sure. – Laura

- I became slightly obsessed with Kopari during last year’s sale, and this trio of deodorants (aluminum- and baking-soda-free!) is too good a deal to pass up. If they guarantee that I smell even remotely as good as I do after using Kopari’s other products, I’ll be a lifelong devotee. – Em
- I’ve been using St. Tropez Self-Tan Bronzing Mousse for years and years now. It goes on so smoothly and beautifully, it leaves no residue on your clothing, and it smells pretty darn good too. – Jess
- The Lancer Method Polish Exfoliator is the only physical exfoliator I will use on my sensitive skin. Used once per week, this stuff really helps maintain a smooth skin texture. – Anne
