The team headed back into Nordstrom this week to take a closer look at NSale pieces under $100. We touched almost everything in store, tried on a bunch of it, hauled our favorites to the office, and then fought (politely, haha) to eventually land on this list: NSale pieces under $100 that punch wayyyy above their price tag!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025: 30 Killer Finds Under $100
We tried on soooo many cardigans & sweaters to find the not-itchy ones with great drape, looked for jeans that could appease our biggest denim snobs (hi, it me), and found a few items that vibe designer. Let’s get into it.
The Best Sweaters Under $100
We rounded up our favorite affordable sweater picks from this year’s NSale – and they’re good. Think luxe vibes (hellooo, Guest in Residence dupe), soft natural fibers (100% cotton and cashmere) and seriously wearable cuts. From slouchy stripes to the coziest cardi we found, these sweaters all passed the team try-on test and then some.
1. Wayf Striped Polo

Love a good stripe, collar and retro vibe – and this sweater is the coziest combo of all three. Sized up for a slouchy fit. Picturing it as my bonfire look at the lake next week.

3. Madewell Cotton Striped Sweater

4. Halogen Cotton Crew w/ Pointelle

Slouchy and oversized, but in a feminine way. This 100% cotton sweater is as soft & relaxed as I demand my sweaters to be!! It is a nice medium weight and the pointelle knit gives it a little somethin’ somethin’.
5. Open Edit Cozy Cardigan (Not Itchy)

We tried on a bunch of synthetic cardigans in the NSale and this was – by far – the best! The yarn is soft, not itchy, the design details are great, and this one had enough drape to make us happy. Besides, the color is gorgeous (but also available in black or ivory).

Oh how I love a good cardigan…and this one is cute, comfy, and a touch more interesting that the typical budget-friendly cardi. The not-too-fitted sleeves and the slightly swingy fit (when worn open) made it a winner for me.
The Best Tops Under $100 In The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
We found a surprising number of great under-$100 tops in this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and narrowing them down wasn’t easy. But a few pieces stood out right away: the easiest tee, a sweatshirt that gives major Clare V. vibes, and a versatile vest that looks cute styled pretty much any way.

This little jacket surprised me in the best way. It has that rare, flatteringly-boxy fit (yes that exists!) that somehow makes everything underneath look cooler – tees, tanks, even dresses.
The felted fabric is soft but structured, almost like a lightweight wool blend, which gives it some polish without feeling too fussy. It’s the kind of throw-on-and-go layer that ends up working way harder than you’d expect – especially as we head into fall.

I was messing around with this cropped denim jacket for a bit until I buttoned it up and realized it’s wayyy better as a top (for me, at least). Really cute with lighter jeans and a simple tank under to keep it soft. Such a great fall all-denim ‘fit.

We honestly didn’t expect the NSale dresses to impress us this much, but they totally did! Just the perfect mix of comfort, subtle excitement—and pockets!! We found 4 perfectly versatile dresses for fall and beyond (and all under $100).

I have SO many good things to say about this dress… starting with I put it on to take this pic & still haven’t taken it off. The material is dreamy – light and soft and it has a BUILT IN BRA!!! I gasped when I realized (shelf bra with removable pads). And of course, it has pockets…with zippers. I know, it just keeps getting better.

This breezy dress has a 100% cotton poplin skirt (with pockets!!) and a comfy upper that’s mostly cotton (5% spandex for stretch). It’s a surprisingly elegant dress, and the upper part is both comfy and secure – wear whatever bra you want, nothing is going to accidentally peek out. Runs a little small, especially in the waist (even though the waistband is elastic). Overall, I’d size up if you’re between sizes.

The Best Pants In the Nordstrom Sale, Under $100
OK, now that we’ve covered sweaters, tops, jackets and dresses, we’re basically half-dressed. Time to talk pants. Because as much as we love a great top half, you do need something to wear on the bottom. And yes – there are actually some good ones this year. Let’s get into it.
1. Wayf Slouchy Trousers

These are AMAZING. With a pair of heels the length is perfect (I’m 5’3”). This taupe color is way less harsh than your typical black trouser & will pair so well with different shades of brown for a monochromatic look in the fall. They are really lightweight so I can easily wear them spring, summer & fall.

These trousers are 100% polyester, but the tailoring is freaking GOOD. They remind us of Theory trousers.

Wit and Wisdom has the best stretchy budget-friendly ponte-knit pants. Nice high waist with Wit & Wisdom’s signature contour shape technology. A great simple work pant. I typically wear a 29 in jeans and the 8’s fit perfectly. Available in petite and regular sizing.
The Best Jeans Under $100 In The NSale
Alright, onto the jeans—because obviously. We all live in them, and finding a good pair under $100 feels like a small miracle. These are the ones that made the cut.
1. Wit & Wisdom Sam Wide-Leg Jeans

These jeans are wildly leg-lengthening and SUPER stretchy. Higher waist than the Kut Meg Wide Legs and MUCH longer. Extremely forgiving for soft bellies and curves (they have elastic built under the waistband, but you can’t see it).

2. Daze Far Out High Waist Wide-Leg Jeans With Seams

I knew it since I saw them in the preview. These jeans would be a steal for the cool design, and butt-lifting fit. They’re the only jeans I got.

Stretchy and super comfy with a lower waist than the Wit and Wisdom Wide Legs…also available in a dark indigo. They come in petite and regular sizing. I’m 5’2 and the regular length fits me full-length with sneakers or flats. I typically wear a 29 in jeans and the size 6 fit well.
4. Levi’s Baggy Dad Jeans In A Perfectly Broken-In Wash

These Levi’s are 100% cotton, with the coolest freaking wash. They’re soft out of the gate, and getting softer every day. These are the kind of jeans that nail that perfectly broken-in vibe, and look great with heels, flats, and sneakers. Fits TTS.
5. KUT From The Kloth Light Wash Wide-Leg Jeans

Stretchy, soft, and comfy (what Kut is known for) with a bit of a straighter leg than the Kut Megs. I typically wear a size 29 in denim and the 6’s fit well in these. They come in both petite and regular length – I’m wearing regular length here.
6. BP. Loose, Slouchy Black Jeans

Slouchy, low rise (but really they hit mid rise) and a really easy wash to work with. These jeans are 98% cotton and 2% spandex and super comfy. I’m wearing a size 28 (my typical jean size) and they feel perfectly relaxed.
7. Madewell Darted Barrel Jeans

These 100% cotton jeans are soft and comfortable. They’re also a really subtle barrel, almost a boyfriend jean, and therefore an easy way to try the barrel jean trend. I especially love how these jeans look with sneakers. Fits TTS, but I did hack off a few inches (before rolling them), so these should also work for folks taller than me (I’m 5’3”). In hindsight, I should’ve just cuffed them a little, not cut them. 🙂
NSale 2025 Honorable Mention: Nordstrom Classic Cotton PJ Set

I’m randomly so excited about this cotton PJ set…but not really for bed. I’m way more interested in wearing the pieces as real clothes. The 100% cotton is super lightweight and breathable (perfect for summer into fall), and that brown gingham print feels equal parts classic and cool.
