Hello, my name is Scotti, and I love all things sparkly. If I could wear sequins on a daily basis, I probably would. It’s a problem. Especially up here in Northern Michigan because it gets COLD.
And while I love dressing up in all the sparkles, that’s usually saved for special occasions. But…I’m always on the lookout for ways to add a little sparkle to “regular” outfits. And I especially want to be a little festive during the holidays…I mean, if you can’t sparkle then, when can you?

Sparkly & Chic Holiday Sweaters
I’ve noticed that Nordstrom has been nailing the “holiday sweater” game lately. Not to be confused with ugly sweaters, holiday sweaters are a bit more subtle…embellished with a bit of sparkle that elevates a plain sweater to a fancy one. One worthy of a celebration – a way to feel “gussied up” (as Mom would say), but comfy. (Because, let’s be honest, we all crave a little comfort during the holidays.) These sweaters pair just as easily with your favorite jeans as they do with a faux leather skirt…I mean, I’d even wear them with comfy sweats. Because it’s always fun to feel a little fancy – even if you’re just relaxing on the couch watching a Christmas movie.
Here are six of my favorite festive sweaters from Nordstrom – sparkly, chic, and perfect for the holidays.
1. AllSaints Ridley Sparkle Crop Cashmere & Wool Sweater

This Allsaints sweater was my favorite. Made from 95% cashmere and 5% wool, this one is super warm and the fit is so unique. It’s cropped (but not belly-baringly so), and pairs perfectly with high-waisted bottoms. The fun batwing sleeves gives it a dressy little kick.

The combination of metallic thread running throughout the fabric and teeny tiny sequins sewn on creates such a pretty sparkle. The thread and sequins catch the light perfectly for an all-over subtle shimmer instead of and in-your-face bedazzled look.
2. Vince Camuto Crystal Detail Sweater

It’s hard to catch the sparkles in a picture, but in person this sweater from Vince Camuto is really pretty. The rhinestones seem to be attached really well (no issues with any of them falling off or laying weird), and they’re definitely sparkly – more so than you can tell via these pics or the pics on the model.

This one comes in a number of colors – I’m wearing port here (love burgundy) and I think frozen (a very pale blue) would also be perfect for the holidays. Some reviewers said the fabric was itchy, but I found the fabric to be really soft – no issues with scratchiness at all. (And the rhinestones are smooth against the skin where they’re attached as well.)
3. AllSaints Lyra Sparkle Cardigan

This Allsaints cardigan was another favorite of mine. The fabric has a really pretty sparkle to it that also catches the light beautifully. This one can easily be dressed up or down and the cropped fit works especially well with high-waisted pants…no need to tuck in in order to show off your waistline.

I always love functional buttons so it can be worn super low or buttoned up depending on where you’re headed: a lacy bralette peeking out with faux leather pants for date night or completely buttoned up with cords for a school holiday program. It would also be perfect layered over an LBD for a little extra warmth.
4. ASTR the Label Metallic Sequin Surplice Cable Stitch Sweater

I’ve always loved the shape of wrap sweaters. This one can be worn open (like I have it in the pictures here), or the top snap can be closed for a more modest neckline. (I love that the silver snap kind of blends in with the rest of the sparkles and sequins.)

This one sparkles both because of metallic thread running throughout the fabric and teeny tiny sequins sewn on. I like the combination of the sparkles with the cable knit texture of the sweater – it’s beautiful as it catches the light. (Also in a gorgeous copper color.)
5. Vince Camuto Sequin Stripe Sweater

I like the slightly oversized fit of this sequin-stripe sweater from Vince Camuto. The sequins give it a little somethin-somethin while the slouchier fit keeps it casual. I could wear this one with everything from sweatpants (reviewers love these) to a mini skirt (this one looks fun!).

The fabric is super soft and comfortable, and it also comes in ivory or black with different color stripes (like the one I’m wearing), or in a lighter beige with solid color stripes. (This one runs big as well!)
6. Free People Sandre Cable Stitch Pullover

Ok, so while this pullover doesn’t have any sparkle or shimmer, the textured cable knit is so pretty that elevates this otherwise pretty basic sweater. I especially love the sleeve detail and the fact that the back is different from the front…it keeps things interesting.

The boat neck and cropped fit also make this one stand out – perfect to pair with high-waisted bottoms and skirts. (Also in light green, mulberry, and navy.)
