If you’ve been around since last year, you may have seen my first post about this fabulous calendar for all yearly planning. Good news! The 2020 version has now arrived! You can snag that for all your planning goodness. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, have no fear — I’m here for another little overview of what this handy at-a-glance calendar can do for your home or office.
Until a couple of years ago, I didn’t know I needed to see my whole year at once. But then my friend Carrie, co-creator of this lovely piece, showed me just how fantastic it is to be able to look at our whole upcoming year at one time. Each month is on a row, allowing you to easily mark off travels, camps, workshops, school holidays and other events to see them all visually and get a feel for how busy (or not) your month and year will be. And, of course, you can indicate single day events like birthdays, too. We’ve included most major US holidays and religious days as part of the calendar, as well.
The Most Useful Printable 2020 Yearly Calendar
This calendar works well for anyone, but specifically those who travel often for work or otherwise, split households with kiddos sharing time between families (as a kid of divorce, this would have been a life saver), families with multiple kiddos in sports & activities (we love ours for marking off summer camps, too), and more. Any situation where seeing your months and year at-a-glance helps (hey Fellow Visuals like me) is a situation where this calendar is helpful.

The Most Fun Way To Organize The 2020 Year At-A-Glance Calendar
Probably the best part of this whole calendar is the washi tape we use to indicate our travels, camps, holidays, etc. Each year I get to pick a fun combination of tapes to use for each different category or family member and see how the calendar comes alive as we add our plans. Last year I used a thin tape, which was pretty and minimal, but not very bold. This year I went with some fun, colorful, wider tapes which I’m already pretty stoked about seeing on our wall!
You can see below — I make a little key at the bottom in the notes section that we provided to identify each category or member of the fam. Pinky, the fisherman/part-fish, got a fish tape this year, I got a cool artsy print and Sienna (6) got unicorns. Duh. The star tape highlights our family trips, and the red polka dot will show birthdays. I will not tell you how long I spent in our local craft store picking these out…but it was a blast.
A handy way to cleanly tear off your washi tape (thanks Carrie!) is to use a flat cheese knife, line it up with the vertical ending line and use it to perfectly tear off the tape. Voilà! No janky edges.

How To Print The 2020 Year At-A-Glance Calendar
Notes for Printing & Hanging: For printing, in the Portland area, I recommend Copy Pilot (the best!) and my friend loves J2 Blueprint Supply in Vancouver, WA. Other readers have had great luck at Costco and some at FedEx Kinkos online. Specs: black and white, 24×36″ on the heaviest stock they can print large format like this (they’ll know what this means!) You can also get it laminated and use dry erase markers on it, OR have it mounted to foam core (Carrie’s favorite) for easy hanging and a good flat writing surface for your entries. I like using Command Strips for hanging.
