2026 Spring Trends: Polka Dots

2

Polka dots tend to ebb and flow with the trend cycle. They dominated the ’20s, revived again in the ’40s-’50s, had their bold power moment in the ’80s, and reemerged in the 2010s. But for Spring 2026? They haven’t peaked like this in years. Bigger. Fresher. Back better than ever? I’d say yes.

One thing I’ve learned about polka dots: it all comes down to silhouette. I’m either fully in, or it’s a hard no. The print has that almost-coquettish charm, so when you pair it with something sleek, minimal, even a little sporty? That’s when it really shines. The contrast keeps it feeling fresh instead of precious.

That said, every now and then I’ll spot something totally frilly and vintage-leaning…and fall in love with that, too. I think you’ll see exactly what I mean in the roundup below.

Polka Dot Everything: 2026 Spring Trend Alert

When I say polka dot everything…I mean polka dot everything. Proof: umbrella, AirTag case, hair clip, and bandanas (so cute, btw). It’s in activewear, swimwear, towels, home decor, accessories, shoes (already eyeing these Beek flip-flops for summer) and then the obvious dresses, tops, etc. And the one piece I’ll come back to even in a moment where polka dots aren’t everywhere? Sheer tights. The rest of my top picks are below.

1. Gap High Rise Stride Wide-Leg Jeans

Gap High Rise Stride wide-leg jeans in subtle black polka dot print

Where To Buy: Gap

I’ve had these jeans in my cart forever, and I’m so close to finally purchasing. I love how subtle the print is, but it’s still a little more interesting than your average pair of black-wash denim.

2. Princess Polly Mixed Polka Dot & Lace Midi Skirt

Princess Polly mixed polka dot and lace asymmetrical midi skirt

Where To Buy: Nordstrom

I’ve been alllll about the asymmetrical skirts, tops, and dresses. This one leans into the romcom 2010s territory, but even better with that lace detail.

3. Reformation Bernadette Crew Cardigan

Reformation Bernadette crew cardigan in brown and white polka dot knit

Where To Buy: Reformation

I’m picturing this 100% wool cardi with some loose jeans, sneakers, and minimal accessories. I’d probably wear it as a shirt or with a lace cami underneath.

4. H&M Halterneck Top

H&M halterneck polka dot top with statement neckline & gold detail.

Where To Buy: H&M

I’m forever loving on some halter tops, so this was a no-brainer. Especially love that the neck part is a little bit thicker…more of a statement.

5. Sézane Soelle Skirt

Sézane Soelle beige and black polka dot maxi skirt

Where To Buy: Sézane

I wore my maxi skirts non-stop last spring and summer, so I’ll definitely be bringing them into 2026. And with the beige and black polka dot combo on this one? Love even more. The styling with the simple black tee and thick strappy heels is great, too.

6. Sanctuary Merrow Underwire One-Piece Swimsuit

Sanctuary merrow underwire polka dot one-piece swimsuit with ruffle neckline

Where To Buy: Nordstrom

There’s a few swimsuit options out there with polka dots on them, but I really loved the simplicity of this one. The ruffled neckline gives it a little somethin’ somethin’, but the print’s the main focus. Removable straps, too.

7. Mango Polka Dots Lace Top

Mango asymmetrical lace polka dot top in black and white

Where To Buy: Mango

I just wore a top like this for our TME holiday party (of course, in all black). I would’ve totally swapped it out for this polka dot option. Asymmetry strikes, again.

8. We The Free Monique Denim Duster

We The Free Monique denim duster layered over casual outfit

Where To Buy: Free People

I love this easy denim duster. Really takes the loose blue jeans, white tee, and flip-flops up a notch.

9. WAYF Lilah Polka Dot Wide Leg Pants

WAYF Lilah white wide-leg polka dot pants

Where To Buy: Nordstrom

I’m feeling super particular about polka dot pants, but this pair is one I can get behind. Maybe it’s the smaller dot print, maybe it’s because the pants are white. Either way, so fun (even for an office moment, perhaps?).

10. Reformation Marcie Dress

Reformation Marcie polka dot dress with neck tie detail

Where To Buy: Reformation

This is where polka dots start leaning into lady-like, but the way Reformation did it — it’s almost sexy. Love the neck tie detail, too.

11. S/W/F Fitted Midi Dress

S/W/F fitted polka dot midi dress styled with layering and moto boots

Where To Buy: Free People

You can check out this dress without that top underneath, but with the layering and moto boots? That’s how I’d make my polka dot dresses a little less precious.

12. Jaded London No.13 Polka Dot Football Top

Jaded London polka dot football-inspired sporty top

Where To Buy: Nordstrom

And here’s the whole sporty thing I was talking about. I LOVE when something cute leans into sporty.

13. Reformation Wilda Kitten Mule

Reformation Wilda polka dot kitten heel mule

Where To Buy: Reformation | Shopbop

Kitten heels have been my go-to this past year, and I don’t see that stopping. These mule heels are also making their way back in a big way, and I’m lovin’ it. The polka dots make it even better. Picture them peeking out of baggy jeans.

14. Aritzia Priscilla Maxi Dress

Aritzia Priscilla brown polka dot maxi dress with tie straps

Where To Buy: Aritzia

Spring and summer weddings? This dress. Forever loving the chocolate browns, and those little tie details on the straps are great.

15. Reformation Danica Knit Dress

Reformation Danica knit polka dot dress with handkerchief hem

Where To Buy: Reformation

Okay, this is one of the dresses that I’d say starts to feel a little vintage, maybe lady-like, but not to a degree that it’s too old-fashioned. I think the handkerchief hemline really helps, and I love that Ref went with a slightly darker cream color instead of a stark white.

16. STRUT THIS Winnie Tank

STRUT THIS Winnie polka dot activewear tank

Where To Buy: Anthropologie (+ matching shorts)

Now, I give you some activewear. Such a fun way to make working out cute, haha.

17. Abercrombie Lace-Trim Tie-Front Ruffle Tank

Abercrombie lace-trim tie-front polka dot ruffle tank

Where To Buy: Abercrombie (+ matching skirt)

It’s the little details that really did it for me on this one — the tie, the lace panels, and the teeny tiny buttons down the front.

18. Maeve Floral Polka Dot Earrings

Maeve floral-inspired polka dot statement earrings

Where To Buy: Anthropologie

How fun! I cannot decide between the black background or white…I love both. Help.

19. Dôen Elene Top

Dôen Elene silk-blend cream and burgundy polka dot blouse

Where To Buy: Doen

Here’s where things get super particular. I don’t think I’d like this top as much if it was a stark white and black polka dot situation. I love the cream with the burgundy that Dôen went for here mixed with a silk-blend fabric. It has that almost pajama top vibe that I love, too (and those matching buttons make it feel luxe).

20. Free People Patterned Bucket Hat

Free People butter yellow and brown patterned bucket hat

Where To Buy: Free People

I mean…I had to throw in the butter yellow and brown bucket hat (although, it’s way less bucket-shaped). I’m picturing this with a spring time picnic and summers on the beach.

What do we think? Are we back on the polka dot bandwagon?
