Postpartum & Nursing-Friendly Style

Hey, New Mamas! Welcome to The Mom Edit, and WELCOME to our world! Ahhhh…we’re guessing you found us by searching for postpartum bathing suits or nursing bras and bralettes…or maybe, in observing this…(gestures broadly) new and constantly changing body of yours, you decided it was time for some new loungewear…ahem…hello, stretchy pants.

Below you’ll find some of our favorite postpartum outfit ideas (oh, hey nursing-friendly tops), and our years of trying out all things post-baby. Between all mamas on the team, we’ve been popping out babies (ha) for 10+ years, so there’s lots of expertise here. In fact, the blog (formerly “Ain’t No Mom Jeans”) was itself birthed during my maternity and postpartum years….12 years, later, here we are. Join us, and let us know if there’s something in particular you’d like to see.

The Best Maternity Outfits For Sporty & Comfy Pregnancy Style
Bump or no bump, we still wanna look cute.
Barre3 is the best fitness class, ever. Strength, joy, body positivity — these workouts empower from postpartum to perimenopause, in-studio or online.
A long overdue review of one of our favorite workouts, ever.
Camouflaging alllll the stains.
True & Co put in the hard work, listened to women & created a truly comfy line of bras. Until then, I hadn't realized what good quality undergarments can actually do for your comfort & sanity.
The old bra drawer was looking a little sad, anyway.
Between these 4 performance apparel pieces & the other Vuori items I own, it’s fair to say that, at 2-ish months postpartum, I’m wearing something Vuori at some point in the day, every day.
A round of applause for Vuori, everybody.
A few game-changing essentials for the 4th trimester...
Soft...flattering...(pretty standard for Vuori)...this is the best jumpsuit I've ever worn. RUN--don't walk--to add this ridiculously comfy romper to your wardrobe.
This jumpsuit is back for 2022!
Crazy comfortable, and I'll wear 'em even after maternity.
My reqs for an activewear dress: built-in shorts, a built-in bra (OR the ability to wear a normal bra), moisture-wicking material & of course, pockets. The Athleta Expedition Dress checks ALL these boxes, plus the color is fab.
It has built-in shorts AND pockets.
Mamas — nursing-friendly wedding guest dress on your summer planning list? Don't forget a matching baby wrap! Our formula for fancy breastfeeding style.
Pretty dresses (and even prettier baby carriers), inside.
I personally embrace the youthful energy of overalls & find they’re super-easy + fun to wear. I’m breaking down the 6 ways I’m rocking 'em — from 1 strap up to paired w/ heeled booties.
How we're wearing these now (over sweaters) and when it's full on summer.
Are you, too, on a revenge journey and fashion is the elusive leopard shark that ate your former bestie? If so, then consider the coverall jumpsuit your tiny submarine pod filled with your current entourage of misfits on your quest to life beyond retribution. Haha maybe that makes no sense to you, and you're just here for the easy outfit...
Sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle Collective It's no secret that I love a little glam, and summertime is no different. Beach glam doesn't have to be hard - a few key accessories can make your go-to beach look downright fancy. (Think: vacation.) There are a few go-to's I've had for years now: a black maxi cover-up that can easily go...
I’m a beach girl all the way, but I don’t typically love swimwear. So when this suit arrived in the mail and I tried it on, I could barely believe my eyes. Not only was this one-piece arguably the cutest piece of swimwear I have ever tried on, it was really comfortable. Adjustable straps? Check. Light (removable) padding in the...
A light fleece. A cute Dolman jacket. An oversized hoodie. An anorak parka...Vuori, Gap, Free People...These are the 5 spring jackets I wear on repeat.
There’s something you should know about me: I’m a jacket person. Shoes are the last part of an outfit I think about. I still carry a purse I found at a discount store in 2013 (been meaning to update that). I misplace almost every cute accessory and pair of sunglasses.  But Jackets. I have to stop myself from buying every one...
These are 4 toys that my husband I now totally swear by for traveling w/ our toddler, arguably the only things we need to pack. That + snacks, lots & lots of snacks.
My little family recently made the trip to San Diego, my husband’s hometown, to finally bring our son there to introduce him to all of his daddy’s favorite places. We were so excited.  But getting to San Diego meant taking our wiggly, enthusiastic, social-yet-shy-pandemic-baby toddler on a plane for the first time. That felt less exciting. The Top 4 Toddler Toys...
It's technically springtime, but as I woke up this morning we were greeted with a lovely little snowstorm. At any moment we'll have sunny skies and temps in the 50s because, well, that's just northern Michigan for you. I'm always tired of my winter sweaters and boots by this point, but naturally, it's not quite time to slip into...
I fell in love with Vuori the second I felt the brushed jersey DreamKnit™ fabric of their Performance Joggers. So when I saw there's a new boyfriend fit in that same dreamy fabric...I snapped them up immediately.
I fell in love with Vuori the second I felt the brushed jersey DreamKnit™ fabric their Performance Joggers are made from. If you've felt it, you know what I mean...that insanely soft, omg I want to live in this all day kind of fabric that you never want to take off. Shana loves them, Amy loves them, Linzi, Laura...basically...
I found the perfect travel outfit. Or at least, the perfect travel pants. (Thanks, Free People!) Easy to wear, lightweight, interesting details, sporty but pretty.
Let's just jump to the point, shall we? I think I found the perfect travel outfit. Or at the very least, I found the perfect travel pants. They're easy to wear, extremely light, and even have interesting little details. They're sporty but pretty, and available in three stunning hues fit for dopamine dressing. But it took a major packing fail...
I'm always on the hunt for a fantastic dress I can wear on repeat during the warm weather months. I specifically search for one that won't have any risk of wardrobe malfunctions, is comfortable enough for a lazy summer day, and is easy to move in. Bonus points if it can be worn both to a wedding and casually...
