5 Fresh Looks For Summer (On Sale At Saks!)

This post is sponsored by Saks.

Saks’ special event promos are some of the most fun sales to sift through. From pretty designer pieces (Chloé, I’m lookin’ at you), to cool sneakers and sandals for every day — I really cannot get enough of it. I mean…brands we love, but up to HALF the price? Duh, count me in.

5 Cute Looks From Saks’ Designer Sale

So…I came up with five outfit ideas that feel fresh, but timeless (splurging = I must never get sick of it + it has to work for years to come). Not to pat myself on the back, but I think I nailed it. At least, I could see myself never getting sick of these pieces. They’re geared for summer, but can easily transition into other seasons, too (especially if you’re a jeans girl like me, even in the heat).

Oh, and if you have a wedding coming up…I would love an invite so I can wear this dress, or this one. Thank you in advance.

1. A Little Graphic

Now, you know I had to pop in a graphic tee. I decided as much as I do love light-wash jeans for summer, there’s something about the way dark-wash blues contrast with a bright, graphic top. *Chefs kiss*

NOTES: I think I’d feel like the coolest girl ever in these cargo jeans hahaha. The strappy bits really do make that much of a difference. My cool cargos with some Alexander McQueen earrings? Oooh, yeah. Coolest of cool. But seriously, how fun especially when you pair it with a metallic bag, retro sunnies and some embroidered denim bandana slides??? This might be my fave look of the bunch.

2. On Vacation Time

Don’t talk to me in this outfit I’m in vacation mode. But really, this is how I do summer with a little more coverage. The more I pay attention to people walking around the city, the more I’ve realized how many people wear long sleeve tops and jeans in the summer. Offset the heat by keeping the toes breathing in some sandals, and make sure the top is a lightweight cotton or linen (or at least a lightweight blend of sorts).

NOTES: You know we love our Farm Rio prints. Besides the print on this top — the buttons, slight peplum-shape, balloon sleeves…sogood. Definitely peak at those sandals too, they feel luxe but casual enough for every day.

3. Wedding Guest

Any takers on the wedding invite? If not, I could still wear these dresses for the office, brunch or dinner with friends, living my most romanticized life and what not. I mean…how stinkin’ pretty?

NOTES: Zoom in on the yellow dress — it’s not just flat yellow…there’s a super subtle print. I might have to get this and just wear it in my apartment as a house dress at this point. I’m obsessed. I couldn’t skip out on this Farm Rio dress, either. The cut and print is perfection in my book.

4. Pretty White Tops

We kinda have a thing for pretty white tops over here, especially as the weather gets warmer. Abby, I’m specifically looking at you (IYKYK). She’s officially influenced me because now I find myself looking at all. the. pretty. white. tops. ALL of them. It’s an easy way to refresh those old jeans you’ve had for years. A pop of silver helps, too.

NOTES: If I went with this eyelet top, I’d probably wear a lacy bralette under in a skin tone color or black (if I’m feeling a little…daring?) Oh, and yes. Jeni has called it (you probably saw in Shana’s weekend post), but capris are making a comeback. I’d argue these jeans toe that line pretttty closely. And…I’m here for it.

5. Rainy Day

Okay, okay hear me out. It has been far from sunny in Philadelphia a lot more days than I anticipated. Dare I say, I’ve been CHILLY. IN MAY. (Yeah, I love it haha sorry to my warm-weather lovers). So, with that I give you: my rainy day outfit.

NOTES: This Barbour jacket is speaaaking to me, guys. You gotta click through and see the different photos of it. I love the plaid cuffs on the sleeves, the corduroy collar and you can cinch in the bottom hem so it looks more bomber-y. It looks kinda vintage, like a cool jacket from grandpa (in the very best way). Did I intentionally put a terry-cotton shirt in my rainy day outfit? I did not, but makes sense to me!

A big thank-you to Saks Fifth Avenue for sponsoring this post! I have wayyy too much fun combing through the sale pages – and love your curation ANY day – especially when I get to put together summer looks. It’s where I get so much of my inspiration, every single season.
