I’m headed to Nashville next month to see my bestie’s daughter graduate from high school (all the feels!) and needed a great graduation outfit to wear, obvs.
This linen + cotton blend set (vest + trousers) from GAP just arrived and I really like it. I’ve always wanted a matching vest and trousers moment for an event and yay I am finally getting it! I’m planning to mention this set in our Weekly Sales Report as usual, but I wanted to do a quick deep dive here since since a) I love it so much and b) it’s on sale (the vest is 50% off, the pants are 20% off).

Fit Notes: For the vest, I sized up. I have a wide ribcage and shorter waist, so vests are tricky. I ordered both the M Petite and the L Petite, and the large fits comfortably with a little room to spare. The M Petite was too tight in the bust.
The pants fit a little small in the waist as I’m typically a size 8 in pants, but tried both and needed the 10. That’s not atypical for me in a non-stretch, trouser style fit, though. The pants have room in the hips and butt, and the placement of the pockets on the back makes them not see-thru. I’m just 5’4″ and these pants are the perfect length for heels, so I suggest Tall sizes if you are taller than I am.
This set comes in a variety of neutral colors, too, both stripes and/or solids.

Outfit 1: Mixed Prints – GAP Trousers + Pretty Top

I tried the gorgeous Farm Rio top (from this post) with the GAP trousers and I love this combo. It’s not always easy to mix prints, but here the pinstripes are small and light enough that they don’t look too busy with the patterned top. This combo is so fun.

Sale alert: This GAP denim blazer and Wit + Wisdom Jeans are also on sale! I’ve been looking for an alternative to a typical denim jacket for this year and this baby is IT. I love it. This denim blazer is a great quality and so cool. I’m all about the denim-on-denim look right now, but I also love how the white of the vest breaks it up just a little bit. I’ll be wearing this as another option on my trip (as long as Nashville isn’t already sweltering hot LOL.)
