If you guys have been here for a while, you might know I LOVE Halloween. I’ve definitely passed on that love to my kids, and they get almost as excited as I do. (But it’s close.) Decorations almost always go up in September (sorry, neighbors!), and Greenlea has always had very strong opinions about her Halloween costumes. For as long as I can remember, she always had an answer ready to go when I ask her what she wants to be. One year, Minnie Mouse. The next, Elsa…then Belle…then Elsa again…oh, and then came her obsession with all things “Descendants.”
My Family’s Go-To For Cute Kids Halloween Costumes + Pajamas: shopDisney
So this year, I stuck with that trend and just had her take a look at all of the costumes on shopDisney. (It has a ton of variety and sizes, and its search functions make it easy to stick to a certain theme/movie/franchise.)
I thought she might go for Cruella (Ozzie could be a Dalmatian) or Belle again (this Beast costume would also be adorable on Ozzie), but the second she saw this Rey costume, she was like: “Ooh, that one! That’s it…but I have to have a lightsaber too.” Fortunately, shopDisney also has really good accessories, so she was able to bring her entire “Star Wars” vision to life.

Ever since Ozzie came into the picture, Greenlea has also had very strong opinions about his costumes as well. Lucky for her, Ozzie will pretty much get on board with anything Greenlea says (at least for now). So when he saw how excited she was about this Baby Yoda costume (Grogu, for fellow “Star Wars” nerds), “Baby Yoda!! Ozzie, Baby Yodaaa!!” he was sold immediately. I’m not sure he even knew who Baby Yoda was before that, but he is excited whenever that costume goes on now.

I’m actually not sure who is more excited about it…because as much as Ozzie (obviously) loves it, Greenlea and I delight in watching him bumble around screaming, “Baby Yodaaaaaa!!!” whenever he wears it.
And I know Grogu doesn’t technically have a lightsaber, but try telling that to Ozzie when Greenlea is going around looking like this:

You guys, this costume is quality. From the faux-leather belt to the gauzy scarf to the arm warmers and hip bag, all of the details are on-point.

The lightsabers (sold separately) were the icing on the cake. The features on the hilt, the lights, the sounds (it hums when it’s on and makes motion-sensor noises as you swing it around) are all so, so good. And the kids didn’t want to break them, so it was easier than I thought to get them to pretend to fight.

Of course, being in Marquette for Halloween, the weather is going to be cold. But there’s LOTS of room under Ozzie’s Grogu costume for extra warm layers, and Greenlea’s boot covers will fit over big winter boots as well. We’ll probably throw on a thin undershirt and a long cardigan on top depending on how cold it gets when for actual trick-or-treating.
If “Star Wars” isn’t your thing, shopDisney has a ton of other options — for the entire family too. So many cute Halloween costume ideas!!

The Nightmare Before Christmas PJ PALS (5T & 10) | Rey Lightsaber | Yoda Lightsaber
Of course, the Halloween costumes have to come off at some point (although, watching Ozzie attempt to crawl into his favorite chair to eat popcorn while wearing the Grogu costume and no pants was pretty entertaining), and I always like to have some fun PJs for them to change into. (I feel like it makes getting ready for bed easier? Unlike the lightsabers, which do not make it easier…but definitely worth all the fun they had playing with them.)

The kids have been obsessed with the movie “The Nightmare Before Christmas” lately, so I thought I’d surprise them with these matching PJs. I will never get sick of matching pajamas for the family, especially when they’re 100% cotton (so they’re breathable) like these so the kids don’t wake up all sweaty.
And shopDisney has a ton of movies and characters to choose from when it comes to PJs and loungewear as well!
