I am indeed a sneaker person. I do, of course, dabble in sandals in summer and boots in fall and winter…but there’s nothing quite like a sneaker (and I’m passionate about that).
First of all, this fall sneaker roundup is not about the athletic shoe. While there are a couple that miiight fall under the athletic category, the vast majority of sneakers below are the casual, cute, outfit-making kind. (The fun kind, in my opinion.)
While I have heart eyes for all of them, really, there are two in particular — this pair of patchwork Converse and these chunky Vejas with flannel detail (yeah, flannel) — that really make my heart beat fast.
15 Cool Sneakers With All The Texture & Perfect For Fall
I LOVE fall outfitting, especially when it includes the comfiest footwear of all. There’s definitely a pair (or three) of sneakers for everyone on this list.
When you think of fall or winter sneaks, black/dark pairs probably come to mind, but white/cream tennis shoes go with everything, if you ask me. And they’re not just for the spring and summer…they’re even more seasonless when they’re decorated with animal print, paisley, flannel and/or suede. Prints and pattern work any time of year, but especially with texture.
I know some sneaker lovers are serious about their black/dark pairs too (which also happen to go with a lot, so I totally get it), so I have a couple great pairs below that can transition from fall even to winter (and can go longer without being cleaned).
If you have your staple sneaks and are just looking for is some sweet, warm-toned goodness to complement your neutral-heavy fall outfits, look no further…
But don’t worry, neutral enthusiasts, the majority of these sneakers come in some super easy-to-pair color combos like brown or white with just a pop of color.
1. Veja Roraima Sneaker
These otherwise neutral-heavy (but in, like, a colorful way? — those are some of the most colorful neutrals I’ve ever seen… hmmm…), fall-toned sneaks with the little pop of purple is precisely what I’m here for. These Vejas look like they can take on a lot — from city errands to weekend hikes, these babies are durable enough for whatever. They’re made from 50% eco-conscious fibers, too.
2. Golden Brown Checkered Vans
Oooo, an autumnal take on the classic black and white checkered Vans (which we all love). These golden checks are really fun and would *probably* go with any jean/sweater/bag/jacket combo you can pull together.
3. Nike Daybreak Sneaker
A classic idea in an updated style: the Nike daybreak. I love the slim suede design as a more unexpected black sneaker to add to your fall collection. Can never go wrong with a good black and white, especially one like this with a softer, more feminine feel. I could even see these with a dress or skirt, tights, and maybe some cute socks over? I have a friend who wears that look to work in the colder months and it seriously looks so cool. Try it!
4. Everlane Forever Sneaker In Lavender Dip Dye
Guys, I’ve been seeing lavender pop up as a trending fall color… I’m calling it now. I also happen to think that this hue of purple looks especially pretty with an army green or a bunch of brown tones. It’s a different pop of color for fall (yanno, cool tones in this season can be hard to come by) and I think that makes these Everlane dip dye sneaks special. (Oh, and because they’re like half off right now. Yeah. $35.)
5. Everlane Forever Sneaker In Corduroy
OMG a (sustainable) corduroy sneaker. Like, how much more fall could you get? These are SO cool and add a healthy dose of texture, so they’d be really cute paired with a little silk slip dress or something more soft. You feel? Juxtapose those outfit touches!
6. Brandblack Aura Sneaker
AHH the color-lover in me is screaming (and never hard to find, btw…so duh). This pair of Brandblacks is so awesome. I love the giant (and really comfy looking) cream sole contrasted with the black laces and rich color splotches. These are so interesting and would be such an easy addition to a simple little jeans + tee or leggings + sweatshirt ‘fit.
7. New Balance 574 Sneaker
These New Balance sneaks come in tons of colors, but I love the honey/pink combo on this pair. So good in the chunkier, cushy style. They kinda remind me of a teddy bear…? Is that weird? They just look so dang cozy and like they’d keep my feet decently warm into the winter. (With thicker socks, ofc.)
8. Madewell Kickoff Trainer
Don’t get us started on these Madewell sneakers. One of us is usually rocking a pair year-round, but especially in the fall because of their color schemes. I have this pair, which I grab as my most neutral fall sneaker option — but still with a bit of fun. They currently have a cute dark-toned pair on the site, too.
9. Veja Venturi Sneaker
Um… Flannel on a sneaker? I’m SO down. These Veja sneakers pack such a punch, style-wise. They’re chunky (but sorta look slim?), super textured (hello again, beautiful gray flannel and suede), differently detailed (love those hiker-esque laces and the black contrast heel pull) and deliciously sustainable (composed of recycled materials). Goals.
10. P448 John Paisley Sneaker
This paisley is surprisingly fresh?! Even for fall!? Like, I’m kind of obsessed. These P448s would usually strike me as a spring pair, but they’re totally autumnal at a closer look. I think the distressed ivory sole helps offset the white too, which makes them even more seasonally appropriate.
11. Jeffrey Campbell Endorphin High-Top
I have and adore these high-tops. They look completely awesome with a flowy dress or something feminine…and/or of course your fav pair of jeans. The contrast stitching on the canvas adds some good flair, as well as the black piping and cutout sole shape. Suuuuch an interesting sneaker option for fall.
12. Tretorn Rawlins 2.0 Sneaker
Burgundy is back for fall, baby. These Tretorn sneakers are so sweet. I’ve been loving a pink and red color combo more and more lately, and I feel like this pair captures the best shades. The burgundy tongue and heel accents add to the whole pink color scheme perfectly, too.
13. P448 Skate Hi-Top Sneaker
High-tops are my absolute faves in any season. They just make even more sense as the temps start to dip. Love some that you can hide thicker socks under without sacrificing style (or edge, in terms of these badass ones). These P448s are one of those pairs you could wear with pretty much anything and they’d be cool.
14. Converse Lugged Winter Hi Top
Oh man — I love the rose/taupe patchwork on these Converse. Apparently they’re dyed using grapes and onion skins?! So cool! The pixelated design in the collection of pinks is seriously pretty. P.S. You’d be surprised by how many outfits pink shoes (sneakers*, at that) go with. I swear.
15. New Balance Suede 327 Sneaker
These New Balance sneaks are slightly geometrical and totally cool. Love the little bit of pink with the black; it adds just enough color without being too much. The treads really add some interesting shapes and texture, too.
Now’s the perfect time to secure a super charming pair of sneakers for the fall… or a few pairs. Who’s counting? Comfortable + cute footwear is IMPORTANT, okay?!
Xo, Abby
Oh hey, Pinners….
I would like them all please and thank you.
