I’m always so intrigued by those sweaters I see on Amazon. You know, the ones with the same model, holding a coffee cup, usually wearing perfectly ripped jeans and cute accessories. Some of them have amazing reviews and some are SO mixed — people either love them or hate them.
So I scoured Amazon one night, looking at all of the review pictures and comments and ordered a bunch of my favorites to try on. Here’s what I found.
The Best V-Neck Sweater (& Overall Winner)
This sweater was easily my favorite of the bunch. Super-soft, perfectly oversized (I sized up to a medium/large based on reviews), and I love the hi-low hemline that’s perfect for pairing leggings. This one comes in a TON of colors (including black and grey), but I have a thing going right now for fall colors and I loved this gold/mustard (the dark burgundy is really pretty too).
The Best Off-the-Shoulder Sweater
This link goes to two different types of sweaters, one of them being this off-the-shoulder sweater and another being an oversized cable knit sweater. (I wish they didn’t combine products under one link, because it makes the reviews confusing.) This is one of the ones that has crazy mixed reviews–one woman loves it and another hates it. It isn’t the softest sweater I’ve ever felt, but it’s not itchy and I love the color. It’s not too tight and is long enough for leggings.
The Best Cowl Neck Sweater
These sweaters are sold by different vendors and have a difference in price of ten cents…but other than that, I really couldn’t tell you what’s different about them. They’re both a size medium are are the perfect length for leggings. They come in a ton of colors, and after the grey and navy, I’m loving the dark green.
My Favorite Wrap Sweaters
The sweater on the left is an xl–after reading the reviews, I was pretty sure I had to size up a couple of sizes in order for it to fit the way I wanted it to. (I’m glad I did.) It doesn’t look like it did on the model, but it is long enough for leggings and is super-soft. I would need to wear a cami or bodysuit underneath it–although I love how they styled it backwards further down the page!
The sweater on the right is more of a lightweight waffle knit sweater. I love the colors and neckline, but hate the buttons on the side (you can’t see them in my picture). I was planning on just cutting them off, but this one looks like it might the exact same sweater without the buttons! (The customer images are always helpful.)
They Can’t All Be Winners…
I was so disappointed by the sweater on the left. It had such great reviews, but the fabric felt awful! It was itchy and just felt cheap…which is too bad because I loved the color. Based on looking at customer reviews, I think I should have gotten this one…it looks almost the same, but slightly more oversized and definitely softer!
The sweater on the right looks so cute on the model, but…not in real life. It was boxier than I expected and wasn’t soft either. It came in a vacuumed-sealed bag, which created wrinkles that I’m not sure would have ever come out! Too bad because I loved the cute neckline..this one might be a better bet!
Do you have a favorite Amazon sweater? (To wear with leggings or otherwise!) Let me know in the comments!
Oh hey there, Pinners. This one’s for you…
