Hi. How are we all doing? Ooookkkk. Let’s get into some helpful distraction, shall we? This post is all about the easy things I’ve been loving lately that are either comfy & cute (hi, ruched dress and super soft shorts), solve problems in my household (head massager, anyone?), or are just really good (I’m looking at you, Lemon Yogurt almonds).
We started virtual school this week and THANK YOU PORTLAND PUBLIC SCHOOL for adopting what I call a slow-roll into the school year. The first two weeks or so are dedicated to students and parents learning the software, emotional well-being for students, and seemingly just a general ease into this 2020-21 academic year. Hooray for whomever made THAT decision. I’m taking the opportunity to pretend like it’s still summer with a mother/daughter trip to the art museum one afternoon this week and a family camping trip Monday night. Hello 2020 school year… the year where I stop being an over-achiever :insert smiling sweat emoji here:
Cute & Comfy Fashion Finds + More Current Loves At Amazon
OK, but distraction. That’s at least part of what you’re here for. Let’s dive into the collection of wonderful things I’ve discovered on Amazon over the last year. (Ooh, and I just found my rug above on Amazon, too!)
With the exception of these sneakers (currently hunting for a cool, classic pair for fall!) I have and adore all of these items below. Sometimes you shop as local as possible; sometimes your sanity needs the ease of ordering from Amazon (aka during the first weeks of school.) It’s all about balance. These things I’ve gathered here are worth a gander for your next Prime delivery order.
This cutie cardi is great…soft, easy to throw on and something I’ve been grabbing for often since I got it a week ago. I am wearing a small here in brown, but I think I may go with a medium in the mustard yellow color, as shown in the product pic. I want to go for maximum coziness and I think sizing up might just take it all the way there. It’s under $35, too! You can shop my entire look, here.
Same cut, similar distressing, diff wash. My pair is from Nordstrom (a few sizes left), but what I love most about them, is the ankle distressing (see more of that here) and how well it totally works with all my high-tops and ankle boots. The pair on Amazon are 100% cotton, but I prefer the wash to mine. The pair I’m wearing are TTS because they have a little stretch, but consider going up a size in the lighter ones since they’re 100% cotton.
This is an adorable little pj set for $26. And while it looks a little different than the product pic, it’s soft, still colorful, and is so comfy to wear. It’s kinda a throwback to airbrushing that I am totally digging. We didn’t get much pool time this summer, but I’d definitely wear these as a cute cover-up, too. I love the set paired with the white slides. TTS. Wearing a Small.
04/ lap desk
And the honorable mention for most-purchased quarantine item besides sweatpants goes to…the lap desk! Nothing too fancy about this lap desk, but it’s comfy to use, and I like that it’s lighter in color (aka goes with my bedroom? Haha.) It’s been a great item to have for a few late-night, work-from-bed sessions or just to put my laptop on in bed when I chill and watch my shows. (I see you, almonds. Wait for it…)
You’ve seen this a few times already! I love this dress so much, and it comes in a ton of colors, too. This deep red is so perfect for fall. I recently styled it up with my new zebra P448 high-tops as seen here, but you can also see the post where I styled it a bunch of different ways.
06/ twist tee
I found this cute t-shirt when I was looking for an alternative to the sold-out Zella tee that’s similar. I’m actually wearing this one as I type this. It’s a great find. I sized up to a Medium as it added a little length. Great with high-waisted jeans & pants, like the fab Nike Palazzo pants. You can shop my entire look, here.
07/ comfy shorts
These easy shorts are SO soft (almost like the Beyond Yoga fabric we all love!) and under $20. I styled them up here. Perfect for lounging, workout and end of summer.
A shred of my sanity has been maintained during this time by collecting and tending to houseplants. I’m learning about which windows in our house provide the best light and how to propagate new baby plants from the ones I have….therefore need all the plant hanging and displaying paraphernalia.
Trying to upgrade some of the Commando hooks in our house with something prettier like these. They arrived, and I will say they are a bit larger than I thought, but perfect for holding bags, towels and robes. I needed one for Sienna’s robe in her room, and now I’ll order a couple more for bath & hand towels in her bathroom. I love that spa look they give versus traditional metal hardware & hooks in the bath.
This is the only item I don’t actually own yet, but I’ve been searching for a cool, classic sneaker like a New Balance, Tretorn…or THESE. When I saw them they just said ‘cool classic fall sneaker.’ Can’t wait to try them out.
I’ve had this for about a year now, and it is THE best at clearing clogged pores and leaving you with absolutely smooth, noticeably softer, cleaner skin. I use it once a week or so. Rinse really well and use a toner after to remove excess.
This kit kept Sienna and our 8-year-old neighbor both busy for like two days. I call it a win. It features an easy weaving technique, and they can make cute key rings and backpack clips. Great for giving and trading with friends. See our whole easy crafts post here!
I don’t even know how many of these almonds I’ve eaten over the last few months. My Target started running out of them, so I found the 5-pack on Amazon. Mwhaha. I’ve been a fan of the other flavors for a while, but Em mentioned these in her IG stories a few months ago, and I was intrigued, sucked in, and will never be the same again. They’re SO good.
Most delicious granola ever with good ingredients and the right amount of salt that just balances the flavor out so well. Yum. All the flavors I’ve tried are excellent.
15/ head massager
At first, I was like, pshaw, I don’t need a head massager. And then I got a head massager…
16/ sweater shaver
These are the best for giving new life to well-worn sweaters by de-piling them. I had one that quit after years, and it was time to replace it! A must-have for the upcoming season.
17/ clay beads
Sienna and I just finished some bracelets out of these this week! Love the elevated look compared to pony beads or other plastic beads. We added these gold letter beads in, too. I’ll share a pic on my Instagram soon!
Well, there we have it. A random roundup of things we’ve been loving. Not sure if it makes sense to order a box of rosé on Amazon or not, but that’s been my favorite back-to-school supply this year. Hey-o. Good luck parents and teachers and everyone making it happen right now.
Hey, hey from Portland, OR. Would love for you to follow me over on Instagram for all things casual mom-wear, lots of foodie pics and donuts, some kitchen dance parties and some social justice. xo
