“Did you order something?” yelled my husband when he came into the house. I was filling up my son’s water bottle for soccer. I spent all day waiting for the box, and naturally, it arrived the same second my husband was pulling into our driveway.
Somehow, after three years of fashion blogging, he still can’t understand why I get boxes all the time. So when he asked, “Did you order something?” I yelled back, “Siiiii, fui yo!” but inside, it was more like, “Yes, I did. Did you order something? No, you never do. Whenever you need something, you tell me. So if there’s a box, it’s mine, ok? and please stop asking that question. Pareces un disco rayado! (You sound like a broken record).” I think I’ll start writing in Spanish, maybe Spanglish?
Anyways, what was inside that big box? Seven things I managed to snag from Shopbop’s Fall Event — all of which I was so excited to try. There are six things I’m considering keeping (like this elevated tee or sweatshirt), plus one I loved, even though it just wasn’t for me (see the last pic) but I still wanted to share with you.

This is a t-shirt! Jersey, soft tee material but with lace sleeves. It’s one of those things that looks more precious than it is. I’ve been having more and more virtual style consultations, and always need to look put together while being comfy enough to be home and care for the kids when my babysitter leaves. Not a fan of the green? It also comes in black.
If I only kept one thing, this sweatshirt would be it. Want to look put together while wearing sweats? This solves the problem. I’ll be wearing it for Zoom calls, around with the kids, but also with jeans and heeled boots.
I was able to snag the rust, which is better for me before it sold out, but this pink is beautiful if you like pink.
…or try this beautiful leopard print.
Truth be told, most of my jeans don’t fit anymore, and I often wonder how I even fit in them at some point, so I’m getting 2-3 pairs that I can be comfortable in. These Wedgie Icons are somewhere between a skinny and a straight leg with the perfect stretch to be comfortable yet substantial. I could have gone a size down and waited for them to stretch more, but friends were coming over in less than 5 min and I had no jeans to wear, so I ripped the tags off and enjoyed the feeling of wearing something that fit my current body. Glorious!

I know lounge sets are all the rage right now, but one of my go-to home outfits for lazy cold Sundays is a thermal henley top with joggers. I like the proportions, and it’s a little sexy. This is a bodysuit but seems very comfortable and then useful to wear with jeans. As for color, it comes in grey too.
Truthfully, I’m still not sure about this one. I love the knit, contrasting buttons, and cropped length but don’t like the slouchy sleeves for me. I love how it looks over the turtleneck, and the trend right now is to wear over a bralette or camisole, which I couldn’t find ’cause we’re fixing my closet, and all of my clothes are in boxes. This comes in a dusty rose and a beautiful periwinkle.
Sorry for the laces but was rushing to get my oldest from school. I’m not a sneaker person at all — only wear them when I REAAAALLLY need them. My most-worn shoes this fall are these boots — for the pumpkin patch, playground, outdoor dining, and all the places. But I needed new sneakers because the two pairs I have are over-worn. The rose gold detail is quaint and makes them stand out nicely. I just saw these mixed with cream suede and might order them too and see which is best for me.
It’s 2020, and I think we all want comfortable. These DL1961’s are the softest jeans I’ve ever tried on. I love loose legs to be at home, but here’s where I wish I had some extra inches. The hem distressing didn’t look right with my height, and I’m not sure about hacking them off. They’re on the investment side, so I don’t want to take the risk. See how they look on the model, and you’ll see the difference. They’re a no for me.
Last, I didn’t get a pic, but have to share these beautiful earrings. Another must for the virtual life we’re living right now.

I’m currently taking some time away from social media (almost time to go back) to take care of my mental health, but I’d love to hang out when I’m back (IG: @julietatorresd).
