We all love cashmere around here, but I was having trouble getting super-excited about the classic cuts in many of the cashmere brands. I recently tried on a J.Crew crewneck cashmere in deep green. While the color was gorgeous and soft enough, I wasn’t stoked about the style. It was too classic. I think I’m just down for a few more details in my soft comfy sweaters.
In my search for cute cashmere, I remembered Bloomingdale’s Aqua line. It’s one of my favorite brands at Bloomingdale’s as they often have unique cuts and interesting details that I don’t see elsewhere. They’re slightly trendy but not overly so, and they’re all at a great price point (these sweaters are currently 30% off, too!) This isn’t sponsored by Bloomie’s, by the way, I just love this line!
OK, on with the cashmere!
6 Adorable Cashmere Sweaters Under $200 (By Aqua at Bloomingdale’s)
It’s that time of year when we start to break out the cashmere or put it on our holiday wishlist, so I decided to order some of these lovely sweaters by Aqua to give them a good once-over for you. Um, can I just say spoiler alert: I’m so glad I did. The cutest fits I’ve seen, the softest cashmere, and all are currently on sale for under $150. Score! Let’s get to the try-ons…
I can’t pinpoint exactly what makes this sweater my favorite, but all the cute details come together to make it the most ‘me’ of the bunch. I love a raglan fit, plus the interesting textured knit and the ribbed hem that makes it easy to half-tuck. I’m nothing if not a giant fan of tucking oh-so-casually (it usually takes me a couple of tries, still) into my jeans. Always. I tuck everything and usually I rely on the half-tuck. If you have a shorter frame it just does wonders for making those legs look longer.
Fit & Fabric Notes: This fits true to size and is so soft. I’m wearing my typical size here, and it’s great. All of these sweaters I tried were incredibly soft! And not even “so soft for the price point” just SOFT. Also of note, these favorite jeans I have on! Madewell Slim Demi boot. I now have them in three colors (blue wash is here at Nordstrom, too.) Stay tuned for a full post, but had to mention! TTS and structured but have a bit of stretch. I love them.
OK, so I pulled this out of the bag and was like “this has shoulder pads in it…what?!!” Haha. But then I put it on. Dang. SO cute!!
Fit & Fabric Notes: This comes in navy, black and gray, and I honestly think you can’t go wrong with any shade. This runs slightly more fitted than the sweater above. I think you want this style to fit a littler closer. Size up perhaps, if between though.
3. The Second Runner-Up: A Flattering Raglan in Marled Knit
Again with the raglan fit…I just love how it defines the shoulders and creates a nice line to break-up broader shoulders.
Fit Notes: This, my typical size Small, fits well, but I might have wanted to size up in this for a cozier fit, since this is a more casual style than the puffed sleeve. I’d still say this runs true to size though. It would just be a preference on fit here.
So this is far from anything else I have in my closet or ever wear, but it’s so cute! It makes me think holiday, for sure.
Fit & Color Notes: This is the army green (I think I thought I was getting the black, but just didn’t look closely.) I actually love it. It’s a really deep green and perfect for the holidays, like I said. The black is gorgeous, too, and it does come in a couple other lighter shades. It’s true to size, and I think needs to be fitted, like the puffed sleeve. What a great find!
I think if you have narrow shoulders or lots of hair, this is for you. Me, with slightly wider shoulders and not much hair — not so much. Haha. It’s so soft. It’s a nice light heathered gray, and the sleeves are majorly cute — just perhaps a little much for me?
Fit & Color Notes: I wouldn’t say the fit is too big here, I just think it’s the volume of the sleeves on me, paired with the puffed detail at the top. I think if you have longer hair that falls down on the sweater to break up that shoulder line, it’d be so pretty. Also if you are more pear-shaped and want to balance out hips, this would be a great cut. It comes in an intense magenta shade that would be so fun for the holidays. It also comes in stunning, classic black. Perhaps that could have been a better color choice for me.
Zoom tops are a thing these days, and are often in bright colors. But this gal typically still sticks to grays and blacks and ivory. This wine color, however, is quite stunning! I am impressed. And this style is under $100, too!
Fit & Color Notes: If we are going with a timeless style, I’m a big fan of the classic v neck versus the crew neck…if you do want to skip puffed sleeves or stitch details and need a piece with no frills! This comes in a bunch of great colors, neutrals and fun options for adding a pop to your wardrobe.
Favorite Aqua Cashmere Sweaters With Cute Details at Bloomingdale’s
I thought I ordered all the favorite styles from their selection, but dang! There are even more. I’m so loving that funnel neck option. If bobbles don’t give you the shivers, this one is cute, as well. Haha. Prices don’t always show correctly in our shopping widgets, but these are all showing up with the correct sale prices right now! Some great deals on super cute cashmere!
