Well, hello there, Memorial Day Sales! EVERYTHING seems to be on sale right now, and I am here for it. I’ve been perusing these sales for longer than I probably should, looking for all of the best deals from outdoor furniture to bedding (Parachute is 20% off!) to APPLIANCES–ugh.
Our fridge decided to call it quits yesterday, so we bought this mini fridge on sale at Target as a quick fix and have multiple coolers around our house right now, which is obviously ideal for an OCD person like me. But because these sales are so good, we are now currently debating between getting this smart fridge ($800 off!) or the more basic version. (Does anyone own that smart fridge? Is it amazing? Or totally not worth the price? Do tell!). Ultimately, we’ll most likely go with the less-expensive option, but it’s nice to dream…and the reviews are pretty amazing, as are the financing options… ??♀️.
But speaking of all the sales, Dermstore’s Summer Event Sale is SO good that I had to do an entire post dedicated to all my favorites that are on sale, so be sure to check that out.
Scotti’s Memorial Day Sales Edit: Top 5 Things I Own
And now, here are my top picks from this weekend’s sales–both things I own and LOVE and those things that I’m actually buying for myself:
1. These Ankle Strap Sandals That Go With Everything
This leather? Like buttah. But seriously, these sandals are so crazy comfy, and there’s NO need to break in that soft leather. And I love that there’s no buckle, but an easy-on-easy-off zipper in the back.

2. Good American Good Waist Jeans
I love the fit of these jeans–they work especially well on curvier bodies. They aren’t tight across my boot,y but they don’t gap at the waist either. They’re so good that I have them in more than one color.

3. RevitaLash & RevitaBrow
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ve probably heard me talk about how amazing these two products are. I tried the RevitaLash conditioner after my lashes had all broken or fallen out after wearing lash extensions for too long–and after it worked so well, I had to try the RevitaBrow. It worked just as well, and although my brows aren’t exactly Brooke-Shields-in-the-80s, they’ve definitely come a long way since I started using this stuff.
4. This ENTIRE Snowshoeing Outfit? (AND the Shoes) ALL on Sale!!
Wait, what do you mean you’re not shopping for gear for the dead of winter during the Memorial Day sales?? OK, I totally get it–me too–but then I realized that ALL of this stuff is on sale for a fraction of the price that I originally got it for. Come this winter, you’ll be SO happy you got it (and for such a good price!). EVERYTHING in this photo is on sale, and from the jacket to the (WARM) mittens to the snow pants and boots…they will be getting a LOT of use this year, especially if social distancing keeps up like we think it will.

5. Victoria Emerson Bracelets
I LOVE these bracelets. This weekend they’re all Buy One, Get One and I can’t decide between these bronze colors or this beautiful silver tone…or maybe I’ll just get their special-edition Party Box that includes 5 bracelets for less than the price of two…either way, these bracelets are hands-down my favorites. They’re comfortable to wear, go with everything and make the best gifts. (Mom loved hers too.)
Memorial Day Sales: Top 5 Home & Beauty Products I Want
1. NuFACE Mini: The Reviews Got Me
OK, anytime I see a gadget like this, my first thought is “this can’t possibly work.” But then I read the reviews . . . and people are RAVING about this thing. Words like “Holy Grail” and “Game Changer” and “Love Results” have me seriously intrigued. Apparently this little device gives your skin a mini facial lift in 5 minutes a day…”Featuring electrical microcurrent technology, this portable, non-invasive device gently stimulates the surface of the skin, toning facial muscles and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a youthful glow.” I mean, anything for a youthful glow, right?
2. New Bedding
We have this Washed Linen Duvet Cover Set from H&M and love it . . . but we need a lighter set-up for summer. I think using that duvet alone and adding this linen quilt from Parachute would be perfect–with some pillow shams, of course, because . . . aesthetics. I just love the look of their bedding and reviewers love it too. Their 20% off sale only happens twice a year!

3. A Fancy Straightener: Harry Josh Ceramic Flat Styling Iron
I have learned that there’s no substitution for really high-quality hair tools. For example, I’m obsessed with my Dyson Hair Dryer because it makes my hair look better (less frizzy) each time I use it–but even more importantly, I know it’s saving the health of my hair. It’s not on sale, though, and this dryer from Harry Josh that looks pretty damn similar is–for over $100 less than the Dyson. In fact, Harry Josh tools all have amazing reviews and I’m in the market for a flat iron that straightens (and curls!) my hair in less time without doing as much damage. This one has an adjustable temperature control, nano-ceramic/tourmaline 1.25-inch plates that emit negative ions to smooth and hydrate the hair, floating, extra-wide plates to cover more hair surface and extra-large ceramic heaters to ensure even heat distribution across the plates. I’m sold.

4. A Serious Towel Upgrade
Have you guys heard of Brooklinen’s towel bundles?? They make it so easy to upgrade your towels–which we haven’t done since we got married in 2012, so I think it’s about time. These super-plush towels look awesome and you can customize your bundle by size, color and type of bath towel, hand towel, washcloth and bathmat. Mix and match colors and sizes or go with a streamlined look. (These bundles would make a great gift, but I’ll be buying them for myself, thank you very much.)

5. An Outdoor Game for Family Fun
I’ve played Cornhole (Bag Toss) so many times, but somehow we don’t have a set of our own. How fun would this light-up game be?? I love the fact that the bags themselves even have glow sticks in them. This would be an awesome game to play with the littles or our
older more mature friends.

Happy Shopping! Don’t forget to check out the rest of our Memorial Day Sale coverage — we’ve got a cheat sheet for that. Enjoy this weekend with your loved ones and THANK YOU for your support. It is SO appreciated, especially now.
We have the Samsung Smart fridge! It came with the house when we bought it 2 years ago. It’s kind of fun to have Pinterest recipes right there when I’m cooking, or to be able to listen to music, or check the weather, but I wouldn’t spend the extra money on it if I were shopping for a new fridge. Just MHO.
The BOGO was too tempting to resist- ordered two Victoria Emerson bracelets!
I have the Samsung Family Hub fridge. It’s not the fridge I wanted originally but it was on HELLA sale because it has a huge dent…on the side that hides behind the cabinets (I negotiated the guy at Lowe’s down to $1000!!). In any case, I do really like the fridge – I don’t regret the purchase at all.
I use it to do things by voice: add items to my grocery list, start kitchen timers, ask recipe questions, search the Internet, etc. I also use it to listen to Pandora, and in the mornings, I ask it to play my Morning Brief (weather, news from NPR). I’ve used the Smartview function where you can look inside the fridge with your phone a handful of times at the store because I couldn’t remember if I needed something that would be easily visible in the fridge.
I noticed after the last update it’s suggesting recipes based on what the camera sees is in my fridge (or what it thinks it sees in my fridge) which turned out to be helpful a couple of times, and I can order from Amazon Prime, AND there is now an Amazon Music app (which I’ll start using instead of Pandora). There’s a Nespresso app, and a Ring app, and Spotify…there are lots of apps. And of course, kids and grownups alike can draw on the screen.
Disclaimer: I’m single – no kids, no sig other, just cats (who are on the screensaver of my Family Hub) – so I can’t say if this is a family livesaver. Would I personally have felt like I missed out if I had never gotten it? I guess you don’t miss what you never had. But love my fridge, and I do use the apps and features every day. Before the fridge, I had an Echo dot in my kitchen that I used for most of these things (especially setting multiple cooking timers).
If you want photos of the app screens so you know what all is there, let me know and I’ll snap some. I know the store demo model is rather locked down.
Regarding the NuFace….I had it (the Trinity version which was $700 last year) and used it regularly. It does what it says it terms of a lift, but it’s a COMMITMENT..a serious time commitment of 5-10 minutes every day. And it comes with this weird serum that you have to use with it to make that gadget glide. I know 5-10 minutes every night doesn’t sound like much, but towards the end of the day, when all you want to do is wash your face and go to bed, that damn NuFace is an albatross! I bought it from Nordstrom, so it was an easy return. I’m saving my pennies for Ultratherapy instead!
