This post has been brought to you by seven cups of coffee, one flipped-desk emoji on our TME slack channel, two completely ignored now-feral children, and more shards of sanity than I thought I had in the first place. Silver linings!!!!
The good news, of course, is that the sales are really good. It feels a little like Christmas came early. In order to help cut through the sale madness, I’m grouping my recommendations into categories.
Best Of The Memorial Day Sales
Table of Contents
1. What I’m Buying (Top 5 Sales I’m Most Excited to Shop)
2. Things I Already Own & Love (That Happen To Be On Sale)
BREAKING: Parachute Home just went 20% off! They only do sales twice a year: now and Black Friday. I swear by their linen sheets and linen duvet covers. These are the BEST sheets we’ve ever used, year-round. I also upgraded us to Parachute towels last Black Friday and will never go back.

1. Memorial Day Sales: What I’m Buying

A. Things To Get Me Excited For Camping
Mike and I suddenly decided we’re going to be the kind of people who go camping. So after an hour or so online with a Backcountry gear guide…I now have a tent perfect for a family of four to go car camping. I had requested that the tent have as much mesh as possible so I can see the stars. WE WILL SEE. If you do want to go backcountry camping (and the thought crossed my mind), then she recommends one of these tents for a family of four.
Mike started talking about camp stoves, and I immediately lost interest in the whole thing. And then we found this outdoor pizza oven (that can also be a grill) and I was BACK IN.
I hate sleeping bags, so I used my 20% off promo (you get it by signing up for Backcountry rewards program — this deal is only offered until May 25) to splurge on a Pendleton blanket I’ve had my eye on for years. We’re also going to use these double-bed camping air mattresses.
B. Planters For Our Back Patio
Our back patio area needs a little love. And now that we’re home…I think I can keep plants alive. I like this planter, but CB2 has a great selection of outdoor pots on sale. So does Crate and Barrel, actually.
C. This Summer Outfit
6/ L’Agence shorts – I know these are ever-so-slightly crazy, but in such a good way. And L’Agence makes some of the softest denim around. These shorts are from Intermix’s insane sale — also check out this graphic tee and this IRO coat. SWOON.
7/ Sorel Ella Sandals – Sorel is offering 25% off their Ella sandals, the sandal that everyone’s been RAVING about. They come in a ton of colors, but the tan is my favorite. Ooo…also price-matched at Zappos, if that’s easier shipping.
D. Something From Sustainable Fashion Retailers
7/ EILEEN FISHER Organic Cotton Boxy Sweater – I found this little gem in the Nordstrom sale. Exactly the kind of thing I’ll throw over a bikini, or even a black bra. It’s juuuuust sheer enough to be sexy, without being too much.
8/ ABLE flats – The reviews on these cute flats from sustainable brand ABLE are pretty glowing. And I love the seasonless color.
9/ ABLE Crossbody Bag – Like a Clare V, but sustainable. I also appreciate the slouch combined with the sporty stripe. The end result is a pretty luxe-looking bag.
10/ ABLE striped scarf – I love a lightweight scarf in the summer. Warms up my denim jackets on those in-between days.
E. Dermstore’s Epic Sale
Scotti turned me onto this sale. She has a much more extensive list of picks, here.
11/ RevitaLash – I don’t know, man. Scotti swears it works.
12/ RevitaBrow – My eyebrows never really recovered from chemo. Worth a try.
13/ R + Co Sail Away – Scotti’s sister-in-law, Amber, is a genius hair stylist and recommended this hairspray for soft, easy, touchable waves.
14/ R + Co Aircraft – Amber used this on my hair wet or dry and it is AMAZING for adding texture and just a little something.
2. Memorial Day: Top 5 Products I Own & Love…That Are Now On Sale
If you just want quick links to the products shown, click on the collage below.
A. Summer Tops From Banana
1/ Banana Republic striped cashmere – this might be my new fav. I keep wearing it on Zoom calls and everyone thinks I actually got dresses. HA!
2/ Banana Republic Cotton Striped sweater – another suuuuper cute and easy sweater for summer. Don’t discount it over a bikini, either.
3/ Banana Republic Linen Tank – these linen tanks are my new favs. I’m going to size up so they fit a little more like my Anine Bing linen tank. But in general, I love the looser fit, slightly lower neckline, and the fact that you can wear a normal bra. Totally worth the $.
B. Chan Luu Wrap Bracelet
If I had to point to one item of jewelry that I’ll never stop wearing…it’s my Chan Luu wrap bracelet. These really just get better with time, and Nordstrom Rack has a bunch on sale. My two favorites are this one or this one (the brown or tan).
C. Sustainable Loungewear From NAADAM
Sustainable retailer NAADAM is offering 25% off select items. Sadly, my favorite sweatsuit (hoodie, sweatpants) is NOT part of the 25% off, but the white was just restocked and is available for pre-order. I know this weekend is very sale-focused, but this sweatsuit is one of my most-worn pieces over these last two months, and I couldn’t recommend it more.
That said, there are a few other NAADAM pieces I would recommend that are on sale:
D. This Penguin SodaStream
We have a small kitchen, so we have to be realllly picky about appliances. That said…this Penguin Sodastream, on sale at William-Sonoma, has been completely worth it. It’s broken our terrible LaCroix habit (the freshly-made stuff is SO much tastier), it’s easy enough for the kids to use, and it’s sleek (and cute) enough to sit out on our counter 24/7. I also like that this version comes with refillable glass bottles instead of plastic.
E. Bueno Sandals
I haven’t fully decided if I’m keeping this exact pair of Bueno sandals, but I’m 100% totally blown away by this brand. These sandals are insanely soft, cushy, and flexible, making them some of the best sandals for walking that I’ve ever found. The leather is butter soft everywhere: the sole, the ankle strap, the brightly colored leather over the toes — it makes me wonder why all sandals can’t feel like this.
I’m wearing Bueno’s Cara sandal, which are almost completely sold out at Nordstorm. My only complaint is that the exact shade of tan isn’t a great one for my skin tone And the rest of the Bueno line-up at Nordstrom (most on sale) just looks so freaking good. There’s a decidedly French-girl vibe overall…a bit of understated cool that I’m totally digging. Here are the pairs I’m considering:
