Sequins & Velvet: Black Friday Must-Haves At Banana Republic

1. This Velvet Jumpsuit

The tie at the waist totally makes this jumpsuit. You can tie it in a bow, let it hang loose, wrap it around twice…it’s hard to see in this picture, but it’s really cute. Plus, the velvet fabric helps it stay tied so you don’t have to be re-tying or tightening it all the time. There’s a hook and eye closure at the v-neck that can be left undone for a little bit of a sexier neckline or kept fastened when you want to be a little more covered up. It comes in regular, petite and tall sizes for the perfect fit, and I love the pockets!

2. These Sequin Pants

You know I love my sequins, and the color of these pants totally sold me (although they do come in black as well). I wish they came in petite or short sizes, but with heels they still work (I’m 5’4″). You can dress them up with a silky little cami or dress them down with a graphic tee. They’re lined so they’re soft on your legs and the elastic waist (in the back only) makes them comfy pull-ons. There’s no pockets and no extra bulk. Here’s three ways to wear them.

3. This Easy Dress

Banana Republic is doing comfy cozy dresses really well right now. Dresses that don’t feel too dressed up when you wear them at home, but will also work for special occasions once we can leave the house again. This one is probably the most flattering midi dress I’ve ever worn. I know that’s quite the statement, but the drapey ruching is perfectly placed…it doesn’t pull across your belly and it doesn’t add extra bulk like ruching sometimes does. I’m wearing a petite small here, but it also comes in regular and tall sizes and in light grey or olive green. (Check out my favorite sweater dresses from Banana Republic here.)

4. & 5. And This Velvet Skirt & Matching Cami

This velvet fabric is so soft and comfy, I literally couldn’t stop petting the sides of this skirt when I had it on. I would totally wear the skirt and cami together, but there are so many other ways to wear them. Add a turtleneck sweater and tall boots to the skirt or wear it with a plain tee and booties. Layer the cami over a turtleneck or wear it under a blazer with jeans. You seriously have to feel this soft velvet fabric! (The straps on the cami are adjustable, too!) Oh, and this is the black color–there’s a slight grey or navy hue to it.

Honorable Mention: Velvet Flares

I hate to even include these velvet flares because they’re sold out in so many sizes, but they’re SO GOOD. And every time I check the inventory, different sizes are available…so they’re totally worth stalking if you like them! They’re so ridiculously flattering–and these corduroy ones have a super-similar vibe (and also come in petite).
